I'm working from home today so I just popped into the kitchen and measured them
The milk pan is 4" deep and the biggest one is 5" deep, the other two are in between. I use the big one for soups, boiling potatoes, and for batch-cooking pasta sauces & chilli.
I know what you mean about this money-saving thing ending up costing you money, but the wayI look at it its about making the right long-term choices first time so that you don't throw money away on rubbish that you end up having to replace
Thanks Vampgirl. They actually look deeper in the photos, how strange
Yes i am a firm believer in getting quality at the start. We've had our wok for 12 years and our steamer for about the same and they have been excellent. Both tefal and more than justified the money we spent.
I'm currently going through replacing all the things that are coming to the end of their usable working life. Our pans are still mint but i do find them restrictive on what i can use them for, being that they can stick on high heat and its a nightmare to boil milk without burning them.
I'm going to work on her, wish me luck
As a matter of interest do you use plastic or metal kitchen utensils with these ? I would assume plastic would be safer yes ?A male chef of 4. My restaurant is always full and i don't need to tout for business.
OK OK I'm a house husband but it did sound better my way :beer:0 -

Is stainless steel the way to go for a wok if I use an oil mister? I am on Slimming World and need something to cook stir frys in with minimum oil."Finish each day And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."

Can anybody recommend a good pan for doing stir-fries etc on a ceramic hob?
I do have a wok which I bought when I had a gas hob but obviously it's not ideal on a ceramic hob as the heat distribution is all wrong.
Any ideas?Operation Get in Shape

How about a Marco Pierre White Wok.
I don't have the wok but I do have the saute pan from the same range and it is fantastic to cook with. Very even heat distribution and nothing sticks to it.
I picked mine up in TKMAXXTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
Thanks for the recommendation prettypennies :A

Does anyone know? :undecided
Just that I've seen a set with an alleged RRP of £170 for £50. Think it's these ones, plus it comes with a baking dish thing worth £25! :undecided

I have one of the massive sauté pans. it was reduced from £80 to £10.. how could I refuse? It comes up perfect every time.. none of the manky gack most stainless steel pans get.. I intend replacing my tefal pans with them eventually..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks pigpen.
Is stainless steel good then? People did tell me in my thread but it all went over my head!0 -
Yes, Viners are an excellent make. I had some for about 15 years then passed them on to DD when she moved into her own flat and they are as good as new (although they were notr non-stick). I took the opportunity to buy some new ones that will work on the induction hob I am getting.0
