Managed 8 NSDs so far, but I have drastically cut my spending and visits to the supermarket after work. I haven’t managed to follow everyone all month though. Life is rather full on at the moment. But I am definitely more conscious of the pennies.
I do my daily gratitude mantras everyday as a matter of course, but I haven’t really gotten to grips with the rest of the challenge. Better luck next time. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

It takes a while to get into the swing of things Mooloo. As you have noticed, even though you didn't reach your target for NSD's, just thinking about them has altered your habits and saved money - one of the reasons for the NSD rule is to stop the 'just popping in for one thing and coming out £20 lighter', so well done. The more rules you can use, the more you will save. Keep swimming along with us and see you in the December challenge.
Hugs Kerry Woman. I am glad you are getting the help and support you need to make things right at home for your mother. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Day 28 - #18 Checking in...
NSD - 11/12 today is not one. Needed few bits from @ldi and going to towns Christmas lights switch on tonight.
Organise - Buying bits from @ldi this morning (washing tablets & dishwasher tablets) should reduce my weekly food shop as need to do this for under £50 for next 3 weeks if possible.
Value for money - @ldi, school trip to panto being £11 (budgeted £20) tin of sweets in @ldi £2.99 which will be split between added to xmas presents and my DS advent calendar. 3 for 2 on photo cards on m00npig.
Exercise - Will be parking further away from school again later.
Mental Health - Good night sleep and looking at to do lists not as bad as I thought. No rain today makes everyone seem a bit cheerier!
Xmas/DS Birthday - Invited myself, DH & DS to my parents for Christmas dinner, arranged to go their tomorrow night too to wrap DS presents that are stored there, ordered online photo cards that I needed, bought sweets to distribute between hampers and for advent calendar and a choc reindeer for DS stocking. Starting to get replies back from DS party invites.
Eat Well - 2 satsumas for breakfast, Chicken soup for lunch and sausage, mash and veg for tea think that's ok?? More water today too.
Be Grateful - Everything going ok. I was preparing for Decembers challenges and looked at my local foodbank page on f@cebook. It lists the items they desperately need. Its so sad that people have to rely on this and I'm grateful that I don't but can help even in a small way.
Declutter - Some of the toiletries (mostly soap and toothpaste samples) can be donated to my local foodbank. Next on my list is to sort my make up. This will be good but may also mean I need to replenish too!
O/D - Need to decide whether to move this to a 0% card so can keep separate as I never have a true figure in my bank account as DH half of bills go in there masks the problem and I get paid 4 weekly so balance looks better than I know it really is!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. 6 NSDs, much better than I thought.
Wrapped 1st batch of Christmas presents yesterday with Christmas music and Irish Cream.
Ordered second batch of Christmas presents yesterday.
Got a meeting at a job agency today, it would be a joy to have some sort of work confirmed this side of the year, even if perhaps I can't begin until January.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Oooh I like the sound of this - its how it should be rather than rushing to do them inbetween doing something else. I remember last year writing Christmas cards whilst waiting for tea to cook in our kitchen, really not what its about hey??! Thanks for this will do this at my parents house when I go to wrap and spread some festive cheerLightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. NSD - still on 12
Organise - will get kids to write their ransom demands this week/end, finalize all lists of stuff that needs sending out of UK. Pinned down plasterer on a start date.
Value for money - use any left over supermarket vouchers / £6 off a £30 spend, plus activated all the new H4lifax cashback offers, just in case. If plasterer does not come until the week before Xmas, at least the decorating will be finished by the end of 2017 and there is another payday, plus any Xmas savings to put in a new shower cubicle - they do sales of that type of stuff around NY don't they?
Exercise- shaking a shower cubicle to death, strangling the supports and sawing up the wooden stand (mostly rotten) and all sorts of wresting to get them into the bin and the lid on. I am sure there must be a diy workout somewhere.
Mental health - fine, even though DH flooded the kitchen as we must have wobbled a fitting loose while wrestling in the shower, and when the plug came out, so did the coupling and we had a lovely time paddling in the kitchen. Oh how we laughed! Well, I laughed.
Be Xmas ready - will try and get all 'foreign' gifts bought and sent by the end of the weekend.
Eat well - Thai aubergine curry planned for tonight - kids will probably have pasties and chips, sorry, seasonal vegetables en croute and hand cut potato slices.
Report daily - Hiya!!
Gratitudes - That i am not a drama queen, that I can laugh while my kitchen ceiling drips water onto my head. That the plasterer has given me a date(ish) to start before Xmas, that I had enough 'nasty' towels saved and stored in the downstairs bathroom that my nice ones did not get used for clean up duty (DH tried to use 2 and I whipped them away quick-smart). That the ceiling did not fall down. For 2 utterly unfriendly Russian hamsters that make me laugh daily. The kids are well (one is getting a cold), the heating works, there is food in the fridge, and I will end the month with £500 in the bank account.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Florence J I did the same thing last weekend with my presents, I was feeling very festive with the music on although I had a G&T and not an irish cream. It really puts you in the Christmas spirit and lifts your mood I find.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0
