Today I am grateful for getting items for the food bank with dd, for lovely sunshine, for fun up at the rec, for bumping into a neighbour and his softie dog whilst out, for a little local guiding fair just a few mins walk away, for a nice chat with big sis, for sorting out a few scheduling issues with dh, for the forecast not being what metcheck said (sleet, snow, heavy rain and wind!!), for a warm house and comfy bed to snuggle down in.

Ugh I need to retract a spend day- back on 13.parents came for tea. And I needed more spuds. Oh well
    .
Picked up some labels in tesco to buy a gift for a child in care. Chose 2 boys the same age as my 2.

Greatful for- my husband tidying up after tea, feeling slightly better and my parents giving the boys some pennies :)

A SFD. A quiet day, lots of tidying (not that you'ld notice) but spent the last couple of hours on craft prep - cutting out stars, hearts, trees, holly leaves and rudolphs out of mainly glitter card and paper. I promised everyone a 'glitter week', this might be it. Oh and angels, lots and lots of angels and painted faces on dolly pegs. Feeling mellow but need to do more.

Two of my cardboard boxes were nesting nicely (had problems separating them) so turned the smaller into 2 boxes about 5" deep and the slightly larger one into two lids. Two more were a convenient size for holding A4 papers (or felt) to replace the ones used as trays for the Christmas Fair. Still looks like an accident in a cardboard factory.

A lot of list making has been started including a happy list - the socks have helped, I have a pair which say I was born to sparkle. Starting to get my bounce back and feeling a bit Christmassy.

Today I am grateful for good food, even though it wasn't what I thought it was (roast beef from the freezer instead of sausages), lovely with watercress though, feeling rested and relaxed (oh the relief of having the Christmas Fair done with for this year), and for finding lots of funny but helpful quotes (going to write one at the top of each page in my new diary).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Day 26
Today and yesterday were spend days. The signature and notebooks still need to be updated. Will try and do this tomorrow.
Organise - Still trying to do a few bits in the flat. Lunch and flask of tea made. Brought up a few bits for my Mum to try and eat.
Clear out - deleted some emails and paper recycling/shredding.
Mental health - Not good. Once the care plan for my Mum has started and discussions with various people start I am hoping to have more of a peace of mind. They can only help my Mum to be more comfortable and pain control amongst other things at the moment and for when she comes out and for the rest of the hospital stay.
    Grateful for:
Able to get my Mum a religious 2018 calendar at Church today and for various people asking about my Mum. Did not attend Mass, just got the newsletter and calendar.
For a fresh cream cake given to me by a patient. Her son brought them in for her
    Having an early night.

  • NSD : still on 7/12: Spend day, should have been a NSD. DD1 has food tech all of a sudden and leaves it till last minute.
Christmas - Be ready. Refunds came through on returns. Have been checking everything as a couple of items were well dodgy.
Extra Income: Lots listed on Fleabay. A few more to add tomorrow.
Exercise: none, unless you count running up and down stairs.
Gratitudes: Todo lists. Great for seeing progress where you think there is none.
Getting quality time with DD2. Upset about being sold a toy that she can't play with because they've canceled the app she wanted to write to the company and complain. Impossible to email them so we've hand written a letter.
DH finishing the carpet cleaning too!

    Hi all turtles :j

    Checking in: 25/30

    NSDs:12/15

Organise: More work done on the neverending dining room, had hoped to move furniture today but had to go out car shopping with DD....so it will be tomorrow. She's got a week off so we will be busy every day no doubt - out tomorrow shopping, Tuesday at CS, Weds is spa day with cake (!) (birthday), Thurs is lunch at Harvey Nicks & shopping (birthday)...phew!!

Value for money - Got a good deal on the car but couldn't use the CC to pay as they charge 3%, so not worth it for the vouchers. Found some unused vouchers & they hadn't expired - till the end of the month...will use tomorrow.

    Exercise -
    none today

    Mental health - Pretty good

Be Christmas ready - Messaged family to give them the choice of a couple of dates for get together. They have a concert on one of the days, so picked the latest date I gave them (23rd). Happy days, gives me more time to sort this place & prep gifts!! Also did a rough food plan for the day..DD always looks through the M&S food to order catalogue & picks a ton of it. Then I make my version...

    Eat well
    - Not too bad but could do better....

Gratitudes - DD getting the car she liked, me driving it back home without incident (haven't driven a manual car for 20+ years), man at garage referring to me as DD's sister , planning trip away with DH before Christmas, wearing festive jumper for the first time this year :rotfl:
