Day 27 #18 Checking in....
Lost my way a little bit this is just like being on a diet need to do it every day for it to work but can feel myself veering off as we reach the end of the month.
Also just realised the challenges spelt 'November'
NSD - Today is one so 11/12
Organise - Food budget needs to stretch to keep within target for the month. I have organised food in fridge into date order so nothing gets wasted.
Value for Money - None today as not spending
Exercise - Back to school run later will park further away. Did a 2 mile walk yesterday which was refreshing!
Mental Health - Need more sleep hoping getting back to routine will help. Also DS birthday party is nearly here I am organised but still stressing abit!
Xmas / DS birthday - Yesterday I sorted a nice tea hamper for a friend I'm exchanging gifts with this Saturday. Yesterday bought birthday wrapping paper for DS and ordered a sparkler candle off eb@y so a few more things sorted. Party invites written and he's taken them to school today. Just a few more to distribute for family and out of school friends hopefully done by this weekend.
Eat Well - Desperate to do this this week feeling a bit lethargic after eating rubbish last week,
Be Grateful - Thought I would have to take an unpaid day to attend a family funeral but my boss has said its allowed! For a school mum swapping Christmas Concert tickets with me (they are like gold dust) as funeral was on day I was supposed to be at concert but all rearranged now!
Declutter - On my list was tidy notice board took 5 minutes but WOW! (made the whole kitchen look so neat)! Toiletries basket also got a clear out I have so much body lotion and hand cream so going to start using it daily! I have noticed that areas I have tidied and decluttered at the beginning at the month look like they need doing again. I think this is down to us being away last week and house gets a bit dis organised but surprising how quick it needs doing again. A tip I read years ago was if you do your housework once a week, clean the whole house but choose one room a week to do really thorough. It works for me so might add the declutter to this too.
O/Draft - Bleugh!! When I do the December budget I will take what I have learnt from this month and rein it back in.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2600 -
NSDs# 12 today
Organise- cleaned house, rummaged through a cupboard with a few toy bits in and wrapped them. S-i-L has sent a marble game for the 4 boys, found 2 books in a c./s a few weeks back, so ordered book 1 of the tri logy this morning for less than £3, wrapped other 2 books, and a min3craft T shirt (bnwt) also from c/s for 75p.
V alue for money - all the above.
Eat well - chilli for tonight with guacamole and tortillas and a salsa.
Mental health - getting my fa-la-la on! Friday is December!!
Be xmas ready - a little bit more than before
Exercise - only restraint
Report in - here miss!
Gratitudes - that nobody made such a fuss when I, or any of my friends, got engaged. For goodness sake!!, I have no time for the Royals, but there was a special programme on this morning basically going through the sexual history(complete with photos) of the poor guy( with well documented mental health issues). It listed all his exs who hadn't managed to snag him, like he was a bass, just leave them alone! The poor girl now knows exactly where he has been, complete with map. Not sure many of us would like that in the public eye.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oh, F0xh0les, we agree on so much. He seems like a very nice young man and I wish them both lots of luck but, honestly, just leave them alone. Too many other things happening in this world that need attention.
So, still on 9/12 NSDs but did lots today (I'll not bore you with the list). Left over chicken for tea. Had a long walk in the rain (actually got completely soaked. Oh well, we're not made of sugar (as my little Swedish friend used to say!) Feeling really positive today which is so good. Hope you are all well. xxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Day 27
NSD - 14/18 - Absolutely not a NSD, had an appointment today where I was told I needed some glasses, £65 later! Then thought that considering it was a spend day I might aswell do my food shop (£40) and order the school photos (£30)! Not a good day for my finances.
[STRIKE]Food - £124.00/£100[/STRIKE] This month is a write off! I have increased my budget going forward as I just cannot seem to keep it around this figure.
Exercise - 9/20
Studying - 16/25
Clear out - 17/30 - Not sure if I mentioned this but cleared the smalls room and cleared 3 bags of rubbish and 2 bags ready to take to the charity shop.
Extra income - £116.47/£100
Promise to try harder on all fronts next month and I'm hoping that my headaches will reduce while trying to concentrate once I get my new glasses.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Not a NSD. Donations taken to FB and charity bin in the library. Met laminate man there, told him DS1 had had to find someone else to do his floors (should have been in the house in October, newest promised date is December 16th, so he's got to get people in to do the floors as soon as the builders leave, arrange delivery of new furniture, move stuff and assemble furniture) but I asked if he could do a shelf for me (the 8' one).
Arranged for him to come on Wednesday morning, will try to find enough bits for a day's work (Mrs Builder thinks he's currently homeless, living in someone's shed).
Carried on to little Arseda to buy bread and milk for mum, added biscuits for laminate man and some cooked meat to make him a sandwich at lunchtime, decided to buy the 10 packs of biscuits I want for next month's FB contribution (will add tins from the cupboard), carried on to excercise class.
I mistook the time again and was early, so time to sit with a drink and chat to a couple of people from crafts. One of the younger participants was upset on Wednesday, her mother died in February and she's missing her. Two of us were hugging and comforting her and I said that we would all be her surrogate mothers.
Mentioned to the other 2 women that I was thinking of making her a little stocking of hm presents for Christmas. They were willing to contribute but one of them knew the girl's bithday was on the 16th December. We have asked the centre supervisor if we can make her a little birthday party on the 13th. Receptionist asked what we were doing at crafts this week and has asked for snowflakes for the walls.
Mum did not need me to go back with her so I did a quick Icyland trip (DS3 is out of cordial) - had asked mum if she needed anything but agreed we will run down the contents of her fridge and freezer then restock after we get back from next week's break.
My back was troubling me but managed a meandering shop through the market (more underpants and a pair of pjs for DS3, he will have to do a trawl for more), quick look in the cs (bought owl bag for life, hat and scarf for next week and a pack of christmas cards (making some but need a few more and so bored with the ones I have used for the last 5 years) and some sweets from the £ emporium for DS3 (he's allowed a few, apparently).
Getting all mine and mum's cards written and posted/ handed over is one of my targets for this week. I have two embroidery gifts I want to prioritise (a third one will be taken away with me next week), I have been writing down what I've done (CBT homework, developing structure by putting in routine/ pleasurable and necessary tasks and adding score for achievement and enjoyment).
In addition to what I've mentioned I will be doing an on-line order later, combining some items from mine and Beloved's 'wish lists' (little labels for on jars is the most exciting thing on mine). If we order the spice racks Beloved wants we can add them to the list of things 'laminate man' can put up for us, we may even find pj bottoms for DS3. I also now need to finish cleaning the kitchen before Wednesday morning.
Back pain has eased, thankfully.
Today I am grateful for finding the things I needed, especially the bargainaceous cs ones, for our exercise class, for laminate man and the serendipity of finding him in the library, for Icyland deliveries (was using the trolley to stay upright), for everyone being willing to help.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I am grateful for laughter with my y9s, for being part of a possible solution at work, for not getting drenched, for lots of striding-along walking, for dd and dh doing a scavenger hunt for me when I arrived home, for a new fitbit holder so I'm not scared I'll lose it, for dh having some extra work.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Checking in, Day 27
NSD - Still on 14/12, as I had to buy painkillers for OH and pay the milk bill. Must update grocery / food spends!
Organise - Dusted, decluttered and tidied my two big dressers today, they look lovely now, but do tend to attract clutter!
Value for Money - Got Boots points when I bought the painkillers, that is about it really.
Exercise - 2 x dog walks, would love to do more, but finding it difficult atm with OH poorly and unable to do much
Mental Health - A bit anxious, OH his his MRI scan tomorrow, and DD2 is due to give birth next week
Be Christmas ready - Nothing today
Eat Well - Eaten too much I think
Be Grateful - Grateful that the weather picked after pouring with rain when I got up this morning, free eggs gifted by DD, and the dealership I bought the car from phoning up to offer a free winter safety check (can't be a ploy to get me to pay for stuff to be done, as it is still under warranty)
Declutter - Paperwork from dressers and letter rack sorted, filed or shredded as appropriate. Also decluttered a couple of drawers in the bureau0 -
NSDs - still on 14/18 as bought fuel today.
Organise - worked on budget for next month, now sorted. Filled out the paperwork for a parking permit, just need to take my documents to the local council.
Value for money - nothing here
Exercise - nothing in particular although fitbit shows 34 active minutes, was a busy shift at work. Really need to make of an effort with this now I've got the car and am no longer walking to and from work.
Mental health - all good, currently watching one of my fave Christmas movies which always cheers me up.
Be Christmas ready - nothing to add here.
Eat well - not too bad today.
Report - 21/30, grateful for my car (raining and windy when I finished work), an easy tea and watching one of my fave movies.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Day 27
Was a spend day. Updated signature and notebook from spends from the last few days.
Organise - lunch and flask of tea made. Just did a few bits in the flat.
Mental health - Alright today. The hospital has confirmed that they have started to sort out things so that my Mum can be discharged from hospital this week. The ot is coming to flat tomorrow to make sure that the hospital bed can fit in the living room for my Mum. There are of course other things that need to be sorted as well. They are also meant to be sorting out carers coming in.
Grateful for -
Things finally starting to be sorted so that my Mum can come home.
My friend coming with me to see Mum.
