A NSD. Very happy with today but very tired. Went to mum's, intending to paint the fence. Mum wanted to paint the fenceposts (touching up where the blue fence paint ran/ smudged on the white posts and asked me to move all the 2' concrete edging strips and the large stones/ rocks also used a s edging.

Did the moving, rinsed them all with water that had gathered in various pots, scrubbed them, gathered garden rubbish, cut back a plant that was in the way, used the second paintbrush to help with post painting.

When mum went in I carried on painting until the area we were doing was finished, put asack of compost in the shed, used a plastic tarpaulin and turned over all the egde strips to clean the other side, painted 3 to see if it would take, dug a hole and moved a plant (small bush) from a pot to the little garden (it did not want to come out of the onion shaped pot) and put the bins out (mum painted house numbers on earlier whilst I shuffled them into position for her). Later on I went out to put something in the bins and emptied a sack of chipping stones and half a large bag back onto the area to cover the soil.

I ahve not been doing well with cooking recently (too much grab and go from the freezer) so i took a large bag of veg to mum's with me. Whilst waiting for my tea to cook I cut, peeled and bagged up, 2 heads of celery, 2 bags of carrots, 1 pack of chantenay carrots top and tailed, cooked and mashed for mum, 2 bags of ys parsnips (now in the freezer) and a coleslaw mix.

I also cut more shapes (stars, hearts, trees) for crafts and put together at least half a dozen hand embroidered cards. Too tired to read or sew. When I got home I asked for any recycling (plastic/ glass/ tin cans), rinsed several sink loads and put the filled bin out for collection.

The kitchen is not ready for tomorrow but laminate man is not an early riser so hoping for an early night and get up early (actually I am hoping for a sunny day and will pack as mcuh as possible in bags, put it in the yard and cover it to give more working room in the kitchen (going to ask him if he can mend the wonky leg on my farmhouse table (8' x 4') which has been propped up against the kitchen wall since we moved back in here 3 years ago.

Spent over £100 last night on kitchen stuff but treating it as the finishing off stage of the kitchen (installed 14 years ago, things like the pan rack were taken down and moved to the other house with us and hoping can delay a new kitchen for another 5 - 10 years). I also used 4 open shelving units that were for this kitchen, at the other house when i needed to put a new kitchen in.

Today I am grateful for getting things done, for soup (opened a tin at mum's just to have a hot drink), for increasing my veg intake + bananas for thinking of things to add to my happy list.

Today I am grateful for

Hi all turtles :j

Checking in: 27/30

NSDs:12/15 still on 12 as a spendy day again...grr

Organise: Better than expected on organisation as car breakdown enforced staying home. Had to get lift back from CS with colleague - AA came & eventually took car to garage, alternator gone & cost will be £500 , also will not be ready till maybe Thursday...Still it meant that I was able to get into dining room of doom, stick down most of frisky border (using UhU glue, what the hell) which seemed to have worked. Then with help from DH got stuff back into room, table, 2 very heavy display cabinets/sideboard thingy & sofa. Bit disappointed as I had hoped to change the furniture around; however the units do not fit anywhere else so that plan scuppered. Dh fetched all the drawers for the units from everywhere & replaced them. Now just have to clean the shelves & then can start refilling the units...progress, slow, but definite progress. Won't get much done tomorrow as spa day for birthday, heyho just hope I don't fall asleep & start snoring, oh the shame:rotfl:

Value for money - Got a few items from CS & the boss that was in charged me very little. Also took some of my unwanted items. Everyone must be clearing out for Christmas, the stuff just never stopped coming in for the entire 4 hours I was there....Also ordered dog food over phone to be delivered as we couldn't drive there. Ordered double just in case weather bad later on, so got discount from shop owner plus free delivery..

Exercise - lots of CS work..

Mental health - Good as I can finally see progress

Be Christmas ready -Need to order stuff for gifts soon as will be away otherwise & then too rushed..

Eat well - Yes other than the (tasteless) YS M&S sandwiches we had for lunch. Even DH - who doesn't have the best tastebuds tbh - commented they didn't taste of much..then had stir fry + egg fried rice HM

Gratitudes - For the AA man identifying the problem & taking the car down the garage even though he had to walk all the way back - he couldn't tow it as its a 4x4; for a lift home from kind friend; for a relaxing day in prospect for tomorrow; for stretching the few bits of chicken left into a stir fry with egg fried rice that fed 3 of us..
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

Gratitude s- that we have an emergency budget, it isn't loads as all our money goes into our help to buy ISAs but it does come in handy when unexpected bills pop up. That Christmas is a happy time for us, it hasnt always been & I think about those who struggle this time of year and how lucky I am, for the smell of Christmas trees :)

Yesterday turned into an unexpected NSD so on 13 now.

Had to take back a pair of school shoes bought for DS2,the size 6 were too narrow, even though they were the same as the pair he had, found out that the size 6 kids shoes are narrower than the adult size 6 shoes, although the price was the same. The lady on the till refused to exchange as I had lost the receipt but the manageress remembered me so did it anyway. So there you go.

Will try hard for another NSD today

NSD - 12/12 No spending for me today and glad I've reached my target with 1 day to spare :D
Organise - With being away last week my grocery shopping schedule is all out of sync. Today is usually grocery shopping but went late last week so trying to bring it back in line. Will spend some time planning December spends and budgets ready for Friday.
Value for Money - Went to see the light switch on last night. D/S didn't want anything from the stalls except a £1 elf teddy from a local charity stall and a sausage roll bless him so out of £9 budget sent £2.30 :) Took last years flashy wand so saved £5 too, while we were there a local pub was handing out £10 off food vouchers its for a pub I'm taking my friend on Saturday for her birthday lunch so grateful!!
Exercise - New parking restrictions by the school mean we have to park further away as from Friday so not sure I can count this anymore!
Mental Health - A evening out and a good sleep put me in a good mood however a bad day in work today may cloud that. Not sure what the solution is at work as need more training but no-one willing to offer it :(
Xmas/DS Birthday - Orders xmas CD from eb@y last night, dropped 2 party invites off this morning, will be wrapping presents this evening.
Eat Well - Haven't eaten enough today so just having a mug of soup and will do sausage and mash for tea.
Be Grateful - Local pub handing out vouchers for a place I was intending to go to anyway :)
Delutter - Next area is my duvets and towels. I have far too many duvets but my towels could do with replacing. Will tidy them up for now.
O/Draft - Clinging on for dear life!

Checking in now in case I am sleepy later. Did not get the kitchen clean but made progress. Overflowing bin bag dealt with and other things which made it look a lot clearer, washing machine on. Still tired from yesterday so rested when it felt necessary. Laminate man did not come anyway.

Went to have a bath and packed up ready for crafts. Good session. Requested snowflakes were made, wreaths and angels finished off (brought one home with me as we were waiting for rudolph's nose to dry before attaching thigs to the other side.

Agreed on tasks for birthday buffet (week after next) and I got people to sign a piece of cloth which I will turn into a heart shaped cushion (will embroider over the names). Made super snowflakers with lolly sticks and lots and lots of glitter - very messy. Have various things I would like to get done to take in tomorrow but have only promised one of them.

Meeting mum around half six as it is pantomime night then need to write a list of things to be done and work out where to fit them in (not worked out how to open the borrowed suitcases yet). Renewed library books on-line but forgot to order repeatprescription. Took a parcel to a neighbour, some of mine have arrived.

Today I am grateful for time to relax, fun at crafts, being able to reprint the e-tickets for tonight (after a quick search earlier. Some thimgs put away under the bed after clearing eferything out - papercraft stuff and embroidery fabric which will not be neede until 3018.
