  • Another NSD.

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. A lovely neighbour who gave me some walnuts from his tree as we have looked after his chickens for a few days.
    2. Pasta - after the success with bread last night I have had pasta and feel fine with it. Hoping my gluten intolerance is cured.
    3. My kittens who make me laugh every day

Checking in now as I might doze off. Tidying last night (not very successfully), late when I went to sleep and late when I woke up. Have mostly stayed in my room as I am determined to eat this elephant. For a long while I did not seem to be gettint anywhere but it's getting better.

Still a lot of chaos but the Christmas craft stuff I have worked on at odd moments over the past few weeks is now all together. Two of my drawers had drawer liners in and I realised the pattern and colour (tiny forget-me-nots with a small brown butterfly every so often) went with my 'colour palette'. The first set of cardboard drawers have now been recovered - forget me nots on the outside and the drawers are cream with line drawing butterflies (butterflies have the appearance of being drawn with inks which have faded over time in black, green, brown and aqua).

I think I have fallen in love with them all over again. They are beautiful and better than any of the 'storage solutions' I have seen. I have also turned the boxes upside down so that the tops, which were bowing a bit, will straighten out again. Waiting for the first set to dry a bit before I move them and hoping to get at least one more set done this evening.

There is enough forget me not paper to cover another set and the others will be done in the shiny copper paper. Each set of drawers will have a different paper on the drawers. Another quick fix has also worked (had to keep thinking as the first few ideas didn'y work). Using a small wardobe door (approx 1' wide and 4'6" long) across the top of my wood shelves. The sides are slightly higher than the top shelf so I ahve a small compartment big enough for a ream of paper (well 3 will fit along the shelf).

I am hoping the sets of cardboard drawers will all fit along the length of the door with a second door straddling them and the printer on top of that. It should all be well balanced, gives more space without impeding the radiator or the tools that are in the corner. Having the sets of drawers across the top should give it a sense of uniformity and calm.and frees up the lower shelves - have more ideas but will be a bit of trial and error.

Today I am grateful that the bits I have done over the past few weeks are coming together n a coherent whole, that my bed is so comfortable (would like a bigger share of it atm) and that a bit of making do and mending to extend the life of an old but useful bit of kit has turned out so well - It really is lovely.

After saying the other day that mum and I have no appointments until the New Year (I have one in December) I have received a list of appointments for the group therapy sessions running from the 16th all the way through to January. My free Thursday (today is the first) got two hours less free + walking time.

Checking in. Not a NSD as had to spend on train to see my Granddad and Aunt. Later saw my sister and niece and newphew.

    Today I am grateful for:

Overcoming my anxiety. My Granddad and Aunt were playing scrabble and I initially sat out the game as I avoid doing things I think I will be bad at as some sort of knee jerk reaction. I realised very quickly I was being stupid-did I think my Aunt and Granddad would make fun of me or something? Played several games, lost all of them but narrowly and really enjoyed myself.

Having a deep and meaningful and adult conversation with my Dad though it did result in him asking me when I was going to have children...

Realising how much my Niece and Nephew love spending time with me.
