Today was not a NSD as previously stated. Only spent on the train fare though.

Mental Health wise I spoke a bit about my mental health battles this year with my Aunt, and told her (but didn't go into detail) that I was in debt. This may seem like a baby step but opening up about my mental health and debt is a huge battle so I am taking this as a small step for man, a giant leap for Flo.

    Grateful for:

Lunch and catch up with my Aunt, and totally unrelated is that she paid.
Knowing that buying that beautiful Jumper, whilst beautiful, would be unwise and putting it back.
Bonus seeing another Aunt and Uncle and my Grandpa.

Arghhh so I have fallen at the first hurdle and spent! My poor boy is in a bad way snd won't eat anything except yoghurts ice creams etc so I went out and stocked up. Also eaten rubbish as Im so tired from being up all night with him and Ive done a big fat nothing for excersize.however all is not lost- I did catch up on house work, ironed all the clothes Im taking this weekend and bought one of my brothers xmas presents (im doing his shopping for him)
I also booked a break in c parcs for Jan- trying to make my holiday fund go as far as possible and it was much much cheaper then. I haven't spent anywhere near what it normally is and besides 2 activities and one restaurant meal I will stick to free activities and take our own food.

Hoping for a better day tomorrow!!

Ah sorry my gratitudes- greatful hub tidied all the halloween stuff away and helped with house work, that my lovely friend had my littilest while I rested after a bad night with my toddler and greatful we have been able to take advantage off off peak holiday park costs as we usually cant!

    Xx
  • I got value for money as YS haul meant I paid £12.60 for a £36 shop
I will be eating well tomorrow as I have prepped some YS food for my breakfast and lunch. I have some YS fruit to take with me and a small bar of choc. I plan to have a coffee out tomorrow but no snacks.
I made good mental health plans by arranging to meet a friend next week and the same the following week. I feel better when I socialise.
    Today I am grateful for:
The great ideas on this forum
Reduced price high quality freezable protein

I hope you all had days that met some of your aims too :)

    Happy birthday Pauper

NSDs - 0/18 spent £15 on a meal out with a friend and £30 on a head torch.

Organise - £0/£150 food, £15 social. My monthly wage didn't stretch as far as a social budget this month but had £5 left from last month and will replace from wages from 2nd job. Meal plan is done and flat cleaned.

Value for money - used a voucher for the meal so saved a few pounds and did my research before buying the head torch.

Exercise - walked to and from work, exceeded my daily step target

Mental health - clean and tidy flat, laughs with my friend, walking and aiming to head to bed by 10

Be Christmas ready - nothing done for this today

Eat well - porridge for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch :) then had burger and chips for tea :o no snacking though.

Report - 1/30 grateful for catching up with my friend, painkillers, not getting rained on, OH helping tidy the flat and cosy PJs.

laurenh1 - don't beat yourself about having to spend because your wee one is ill, it can't be helped.

FlorenceJ - well done for opening up about your mental health and debt, I hope your aunt was supportive.

Looks like everyone is off to a great start :D
    Debt Dec 2022 - £2972.68. Current debt - £0 (100% paid). Flat deposit - £12445.53/£15000 (83% saved). Emergency fund - £2085.97/£2500 (83.4% saved).
  • Right packed lunches and a wash done and on the airer before bed (airer is in the airing cupboard and will be dry by morning, tons of residual heating as I have the feeder tank for district heating)
I have managed to wrap a gift for my sister in law, a few things for my niece and have a few piles that need chocolate adding to them to bulk them out. I have also done my list and worked out a budget.

I take £80 out of the cash machine every Friday and I put £10 on my mobile account, there are 4 sims on my contract totaling £43 mums ,dads, daughters and mine and I get 20 back from parents monthly so I pay £10 a week. £20 goes on petrol and I have £50 for everything else, food, toiletries, cleaning stuff etc. I do 2 of us packed lunches a day out of this and on my long days this consists of 2 meals for me. Daughter competes away at weekends and has pack up then too. I'm conscious £50 a week on groceries is a lot for 2 of us but I dont have any other money outside of this so if we need something we have to do it out of this.

Today I am grateful for a warm home to live in and and a loving daughter that gives cuddles for free.

    Hi all :j

Happy belated birthday Pauper, hope it was a good one!

    Checking in: 1/30

NSDs: aiming for 15 again this month - first one today so 1/15

Organise: Grocery Budget - trying for 260 this month - already done some shopping yesterday but counting that for this month. Will update tomorrow. No clearing done today, or cleaning much for that matter!!

Value for money - Usually try to get VFM as much as possible but trying extra hard to get cashback etc. Hoping to get payout before Christmas.

Exercise - The only exercise I get is out in the garden with the animals, but I need to make an effort to do this every day & tag on some me time... see below

Mental health - Normally my mental health is pretty good, but |I realise that I am always doing things for the other family members & don't take any time for 'me'. I can do this however when I go outside in the garden - I always feel better outside rather than in & that has always been the case. The only thing I have to watch though is because I have so much to do to clear the house, I feel guilty when in the garden, even though I am working outside IYKWIM....

Be Christmas ready - I am getting organised for the festive season which we love in this house, I am happy that we made it a special time when DD was growing up & consequently she is a Christmas nut. We have a few traditions that she looks forward to & although she is working this Christmas Day for the first time, we can still do most of it. It's a shame that her birthday is just after Christmas so all the excitement is packed into 3 days, instead of being spread more evenly through the year. Probably should have had an unofficial birthday for her sometime in the summer...

Eat well - Am trying to do this but blew it already, gave in to a takeaway as the others wanted it. Now suffering for it, will have to be strong next time but feel like a killjoy if I refuse :(

Report - Grateful today for visit from friend, finishing another sock, actual compliment from DH (a rare event this one).. and that DD has gone back to her own home :T
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear
  • Logging in for a quick report as I've just got home from work.

First day was a spend day, we needed groceries that couldn't wait so that's £48.72/£240.

Value for money - part of that grocery shop was a bottle of my grandmas favourite wine on offer for £6 that's she'll enjoy at Xmas.

Exercise - nothing out of the ordinary, except that today started at 4.50am and is just ending at 12.30pm, took care of DD and sick DH, shopped, sorted and cleaned and then went to work!! So all in all I feel like I've been running!

Organise - I've planned the budgets properly today for Christmas gifts. I know where the money is coming from and what I'm spending and on who.

Gratitudes - I'm grateful to work for paying do me to go on a course that i got my pass certificate for today, grateful that DD slept through last night and insanely grateful tomorrow is my day off!

    Night all!
