  • Hi all,
    NSD's -
I did my 'I forgot/top up shop today (my weeks starts on a Friday money wise) as usual it consisted of bread, milk and fruit and was an expected spend so I'm on track.

    Organise -
Planning on going through the present drawer later this evening to allocate what I already have for presents before I attack a list. I may even wrap a couple as I have tons of Christmas paper.

I'm off out now but wanted to get a quick post in beforehand. I will try and update later that I have achieved above and that should encourage me to tick it off my list.

    Day 1
Wishing you a Happy Birthday Pauper.
Achieved the first NSD today 1/20.
    Walked 20 minutes today.
Had an issue with my mental health today. Did not know why I was feeling somewhat low this morning. Improved slightly this afternoon in work.
Did have an apple with my lunch. Been doing this for a short while when I have been in work.
    Grateful for:
Finishing reading my book and started another book.
For the bus driver waiting for me when I run for the bus this morning.
    Doing something new in work.

Added in a SB goal just to keep me focused on hitting my daily goal, if I miss a single day then I will be dropping it from my list. So I am off to a pretty good start, I wrapped up smalls Christmas present today, I think that is all of my presents wrapped now with just a few left to buy.

Today I am grateful for DS having an early night, a lovely long weekend which meant spending some lovely quality time with DS and for halloween resulting in the treats being topped up until around Christmas time.

    Check in 1/30 :)
    NSD - Nothing spent today, 1/30 :)

Organise - Started a shopping list for things that keep getting forgotten. Discovering that I don't have something when I need it, for example an ingredient for a recipe, often means I lose a potential NSD :(

Value for money - Not bought anything today :)

Exercise - Walked to post office and back, a couple miles. Also walked dog, not very far and mostly consisted of sniffing - dog, not me!

Mental health - Exercise helped :)

Be Christmas ready - Nothing today

Eat well - Porridge, fruit and yogurt for breakfast, that is ok. But finished off some scones at lunchtime :o But a big salad for dinner :) Though I also had a glass of wine with it :o

    Gratitudes – A lovely sunny day :)
The dog making me laugh :rotfl:
OH taking himself off to the osteopath instead of just moaning about his backache.

Pauper – Hope you had a lovely birthday

    Happy birthday Pauper

BUDGETS SET -Food £100, Travel £10 (bus hops, mum gives me taxi money to hers and back), diy £30. These are the same as last month but I am hoping to use the food I have in and put some more of this towards buying some bits I need and stocking up for Christmas (need to buy stamps).

Need to work on exercise and eating well. Starting chair based exercises next Monday (with mum).

Will write a list of mental health strategies. Sewing helps a lot. Awaiting confirmation on Carer's Allowance, would be great when it comes through - 20% increase in income and not having to follow 2 sets of rules. Also starting group therapy when they contact me.

Christmas doesn't need a lot of organisation but the Christmas craft sessions will. We have already started - some small presents made and cards started today as I was being pulled several ways at once by people needing help so did some bits that meant they could carry on by themselves. Have 4 small jobs to do by next week (cutting out reindeer antlers/ sewing some trim on a wise man's robe/ adding seed beads to some butterflies and sewing brooch backs onto butterfly backs). I have also brought home some things (I asked permission) as they looked a bit complicated and I wanted to work out how they went together before trying them with other people.

Need to work on cutting out snowman/ baubles and holly/ poinsettia leaves - someone else hass offered to stick them onto card. Also decanted stuff from a set of card drawers (mine) into the craft drawers and brought that home to start organising my craft stuff. A lot of things I have planned will use some fabric and bits and bobs I have had lying around for a few years. Some other ideas are based on things we already have in the craft drawers (paper plates and glitter). It's a while since I got covered in glitter.

Today I am grateful for helpful people, a free sandwich and got my 'cauldron' back filled with body parts (sweet ones which will be passed on to next door neighbour for when her grandkids come) and having tomorrow off - cleaner wants to swap and do Thursday instead of Friday (works for me as well).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Today I am grateful for starting the month with my first NSD, for finishing knitting my woolly hat (with mostly-merino wool I was given as a present) and using the rest of the wool to make a massive pompom, for going for an impromptu run and going up and down the same steep footpath a gazillion times, for dd having a good day at school, for getting lots of veggies down me, for realising that the weather has been really mild through October so we hardly used the heating which means that my skin is not yet itchy from being central-heating-ified, for a nice email from the icyland people, for having the inclination to tidy up a bit today.

  • NSDs - I will aim for 15 as in the past I seem to hit roughly this amount each month

Organise - £350 is my food budget for this month. Petrol £150, Household £100, Animals £200.
All debts and savings come out by standing order on 1st of each month.
My social things will be a bonfire night in the village where my parents live, its free but they ask for donations so I always put £10-£15 in as I want it to continue. Also having my friend round next weekend.

Value for money – will do

Exercise – I know its cheating but I get out twice a day with the dogs, usually 20-30mins each time on weekdays but weekends will be longer.

Mental health – Peace and quiet helps my mental health, I have quite a manic, full on job and also home can be that way sometimes as well. I like to have 30 minutes to myself when I get in from work reading the paper and having a coffee. I also like to go to bed early and read if I can, my body clock has been out of kilter for a while and 5am starts are not required so I tend to go to bed early to make up for it!!

Be Christmas ready – Only really buy for my 2 children and my friends 3 children, relatives get a token gift like pot of gold etc. My 2 have not announced what they would like yet but things are further complicated as they both have birthdays in Dec/early Jan so lots to think about.
Food wise we will get some bits each week like chocolate and in mid-Dec I will place my order at the local greengrocers for all my fruit and veg. Turkey will be one of our own (Dec can get busy with killing and plucking the turkeys)

Eat well – I need to stop popping in to the shop next door to work and buying huge bags of Tyrrells crisps which I eat in one go.

Report – will try to do every day
  • Reporting in my 1st NSD of November.

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. Walking the dogs as the daylight fades
    2. A job with flexible hours
    3. Eating some brown bread for the first time in 3.5 years with no real reaction ( I have been seeing a natural allergy therapist and have desensitised to gluten so tried some tonight and felt ok, a very slight ache along my ribs whereas previously I would have been doubled up in pain and would then go to bed because the only thing that helped with the pain and the sickness was laying flat)
