I've had these accounts for a long time since issue 11 and I only ever opened a new one when I was invited to by The Post Office under offers when I logged in. I know that the T&C's state only one of each sole and joint so when I contacted The Post Office in March when the website was having difficulties, I asked the question and was told you could have as many as you wanted!

Just filled out an application, (but not submitted), as on reading Terms & Conditions it says under Section 2 General Conditions:- "12) You may not open more than one Account in your sole name and one Account jointly in your name and that of someone else."

    .

I suspect that was why my wife's 4 accounts were shut down and the funds returned to the linked accounts this morning at 06.30.

See my post#612 in this thread.

I've been busy this morning and think I have a solution.

Forget the Post Office - their website is pants - and it looks like they are pulling the plug on those of us with multiple accounts set up principally or solely to satisfy the DD requirements of other banks.

A Santander eSaver, Cash ISA, or a Flexible Saver account allows you to set up as many DD feeds as you require - no limit the cashier at my local branch said.

They printed off a whole load of the Savings Direct Debit forms to do it, and even gave me an envelope to send them to Head Office in Bradford.

It can be downloaded as mentioned in the post by Ed-1

But don't use the one in the link that KTF posted as it has been replaced with a new version with slightly different wording.

Does the Regular eSaver allow multiple DD feeds?

Not according to the information I received in my local branch and not mentioned on the DD forms I received.

Only eSaver, Cash ISA, and Flexible Saver.

Have you requested from the PO the reason why they were closed? I’ve just checked mine as have multiple ones too but all still there....for now!
  • My PO accounts are still showing but there is a problem. I am unable to move money out of them. I currently have 2 PO Online Savers. When attempting to withdraw from the first account, I get an error message saying Transfer cannot be applied at this time. The other account also won't let me withdraw from it. The main page shows there is £1 in it, but when attempting to withdraw it shows the balance as £0. Not impressed. Looks like I'll have to call them to find out what's going on.

I have got 3 PO accounts and I plan to open more. Someone on this thread has said they have 10 accounts.

Looking at getting a Santander esaver account. Should be nice and easy as I have a 123 acccount.

I think you have to leave a credit balance when you withdraw - so if you only have £1 you wouldn't be able to take it out?

Why would you want to have one of these?
