The other account also won't let me withdraw from it. The main page shows there is £1 in it, but when attempting to withdraw it shows the balance as £0. Not impressed. Looks like I'll have to call them to find out what's going on.
I don't think I'd bother calling for a pound. Bank Call Centres are to be avoided. "Your call is important to us" Now listen to 20 seconds of some tune until our next insincere recorded message interrupts the music. Worse still are the ones that play fake ring tone when they've already "answered" the call.

And isn't it strange that they are ALWAYS experiencing high than normal call volumes?

I have got 3 PO accounts and I plan to open more. Someone on this thread has said they have 10 accounts.

Looking at getting a Santander esaver account. Should be nice and easy as I have a 123 acccount.

Sure fire way for the Post Office to follow in Tesco Bank's footsteps. I can't believe someone would need 10 Post Office accounts to pay direct debits into?

The reason some of us have a large quantity of the PO Online Savers are because you can only have 1 DD set up per account, so if you have all the current account's needing DD's then this is the reason. I personally have a few but as mentioned on my previous post I have opened mine over a 3 year period and usually only when the Post Office invites me to (I also don't abuse the system by paying in then withdrawing).

How do I get Santander to send me the forms and envelopes to create dds so that I can post them back to Santander? I have phoned Santander but nobody knows about the forms. They just tell me to contact the company to create the dd.

    Thanks

Only allowed one direct debit going into the Post Office saving account?

I've been sorting out my Post Office savings and its a very long winded job.
Firstly to register online I needed to ring for a security number which then arrived. Then I rang again for an ID number which I was supposed to have but I didn't. I kept the girl on the phone so I was sure I could access the account. As it turned out their website did not seem to like IE11 so I had to start again on google chrome and manually type the address into the address bar.

Then once I was registered and online I wanted to take an old bank account off as my linked account but the system does not allow you to do this yourself.

So again I rang them up and the girl did it over the phone for me, cancelled the old linked account.

I then had to log out and then log back in to set up the new linked accounts. Then I figured out how to set up the new direct debits under "move money" but the page would not progress. A few days later I figured out that it was because it was too close to the set up dates so I moves it to the 15th of the month instead but if you change the linked account it freezes them for one working day.

Yes I know its all to do with security and keeping us all safe but I do these sorts of changes with my other accounts with other savings and banking places with none of this faffing about.

On the plus side though the interest rates are OK - 1.27 and 1.22 gross which in these lean times is still reasonable

Are you trying to get Sanatnder to send you forms to add a DD mandate to one of their existing accounts?

Yes aj23 the PO Online Saver only allows 1 nominated current account to be attached to the Online Saver. However each different PO Online Saver can have a different nominated current account.

So unlike Tesco Internet Saver before the DD facility was withdrawn you can only have 1 DD connected to the PO Online Saver. Therefore if you have many current accounts that require a DD, then you would have to have multiple savers.
