Of course. It’s going to be an important meeting for you. I hope you get some honest answers to your questions. You’ve played by the book on this one, doing as requested despite the emotional pain it has caused you. I hope you get the outcome that is right for you so that you can now get on with dealing with the other not insignificant issues currently impacting on your life.
have to admit I am nervous as hell about tomorrow. we are having a meal out so that we are on neutral ground and hopefully the conversation will flow and the answers I seek will come out of that.
but can but wait and see now.Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I expect she’s feeling nervous too.
At least the time it takes to get through your meal should hopefully mean you have enough time to talk through your issues. Take your tummy settling tablets beforehand!
I expect you may both have rehearsed certain approaches which in the nervousness of the moment will totally flee your brain so just try and remain calm and not react violently to anything which is said.
You sound a sensible person and hopefully will know her well enough to know to handle wherever the conversation leads you. Good luck!0 -

It will be interesting for you to know whether "having the space" she requested has actually worked for her in helping her to resolve and better understand her issues or whether it has merely delayed any attempt to resolve them, given that they may have been partly/wholly connected with you and you have been unable during this time to be able to mutually debate them.
All couples have their different ways of resolving problems. We found during our working life, when we had little time together, a weekly Friday night dinner/"Board meeting" over a bottle of wine would create a relaxed environment for talking over any issues which were starting to creep out of the woodwork.0 -

interesting for you maybe. terrifying for me at the moment.
that is the thing similar to what we used to do. one of our strengths as far as I am concerned was that we always talked about things that bothered us. then she started therapy and stopped talking to me....... now here we areDrop a brand challenge

Therapy works for some. For me it would be like opening a can of worms.
I hope you get the answers you need, whatever the outcome. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Haha thanks so do I. Can not believe how nervous I am about all of this. trying to fight hope so as to not get hurt as much if things don't go well. Well that is if she even turns up.....Drop a brand challenge

We have all been there to some extent, and nerves are normal, and can be helpful too. They can make you hyper aware of what’s going on around you and the words people use ....and also make you step back and listen .
I think you are doing the right thing today, and have shown great strength of personality with this by the way.
What will be will be today, there will be things you may be able to say to shift things, there may not. Either way you have conducted yourself impeccably , whatever happens you can walk away knowing that in my opinion. You will end up with answers , which is what you need, and I get that.
Good luck .Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
