Offer £250 to switch to Clydesdale, Yorkshire or B
Comments

I applied online Tuesday for the Clydesdale current account. All gone smoothly, debit card received, customer number, etc and now all registered and operational for online banking. Transferred £10 in and switch set up for this week from Coop current account. Who cares if they are a good bank or not, surely the point is to get the £250, then withdraw all your funds and leave the account dormant ready for the next switching bonus. Better than money for old rope, it’s money for nothing.0

They said that they are not aware of any problems. I have tried a number of computers and servers and always the same.
Ask them to send a widget via the post and you will then be able to login without probs, It looks like what Barclays, Nationwide, etc. use.0 -
I still can’t continue my application, asks me to login but not accepting the details - now asking me for my favourite TV show too which I didn’t set up at all during the application!
Do I have to phone them up to sort it all out or can the Yorkshire Bank branches help? The latter would probably be a lot more convinient than having to try and explain all this to India!0 -
Silly question time - but is this an app operated only account?Free thinker.:cool:0

I think the point of B is to use the app yeah - however, before the weekend they did have a beta version of a web interface up (since been taken down) and you can log in to the standard Yorkshire Bank or Clydesdale Bank online banking system using your customer number if you don't want to use the app. The standard apps work too if a back flipping chicken on the login screen isn't for you.Silly question time - but is this an app operated only account?0 -
I assume you mean "B", as opposed to the other accounts this thread covers? If so, does this help?...Silly question time - but is this an app operated only account?YB_website wrote:To access your B app, you’ll need to register for telephone and internet banking.0 -

I found the call centre staff very helpful; and they're based up north, not India0 -

But with such relaxed terms as this offer has, I wouldn't have rushed to get the DDs set up on the old account. I'd have set them up directly on the YB/CB account once opened and funded.
Thanks for the confirmation!
Also, I've set up my DDs on my new B account as it's now open and funded. I didn't want to set them up on the sacrificial Coop account because they are so slow with everything and I doubt the DDs would be set up in time for the switch for them to be transferred over.

Anyway, if you selected Yorkshire as the bank when you first applied, select the other one instead (or vice versa). Then it should see you as a new customer and you can apply again.0 -
I have opened a current account plus but at no point has it offered the switch service. I've logged into my account as it is now open and it won't let me do it from there it just redirects to opening a new account. Has anyone else had this problem?alipops1986 wrote: »Yes I had to phone them and they sorted the Switch part over the phone.
Or read the thread looking for something similar and a probable on-line solution...0
