Hmmm. Going by a fair few comments here, it does seem to that they need to get their systems in order. The online banking wasn't working at all, the other day, and the link has now disappeared.
It shouldn't be a problem as such. As in, if your money does go missing, you won't be without it permanently. But, if you don't have £1000 that you are willing to 'lose' for a bit then it may not be worth it.
I won't be putting £1000 in until the middle of next month. Hopefully things will have calmed down somewhat, by then.
I'd also not use this as my main daily account.0 -
I applied on 25th and they say more time is needed to look at my application.
Anyone impatient?0 -
Applied and switched online last night.
Went through application process (chose 'B' account) - at the end it said account opened and gave the sort code/account numbers (one for current account, one for linked savings account).
Next screen asked for sort code and account number of account you'd like to switch, and also the switch date you'd like. Asked for debit card number of old account as verification.
Took about 10 mins in total.
Note: just in case you missed it - the 2 lots of £1000 have to be paid in withing 31 days and 62 days of account SWITCH date, not opening date.
 it didn't ask me for details of the switch account so it looks like I'll have to call them.
There was a page talking about switching and giving me the option of 2 types but the next page just said complete...
Annoying but for £250 I'll spend x mins on the phone and sort it.
Actually...... do I have to switch or can I just move 2 direct debits to here and pay in 2 lots of £1000 or is a switch needed to get the £2500 -

I checked this morning and the account is now showing nil/zero. I tried ringing the B telephone number and that just cuts off. After 45 minutes I got through to someone at Yorkshire bank and they have no record of the £10 ever coming in or going out. (My Natwest account clearly shows the transfer)
I'm simply not prepared to risk transferring thousands of pounds with this bank. NatWest might not pay interest, but their mobile app works superbly and I've never had any money 'disappear'.
It's just not worth gaining £250 with the risk of much more disappearing.
Something similar happened to me (but with a pound) - it turned up again yesterday.
I did find that logging in to the Yorkshire Bank online banking instead of B did show the money throughout, however - so can you see it in there?0 -

Post #47 save you hanging on phone...If you've not had a welcome email you're prob still in process & needs completion.
Go to the login page and use the 'login to retrieve application' and select current account type from the current account dropdown and work through it... see where that takes you.0 -

£250 is an incentive for switching a current account using the CASS. What do you think?:cool:0 -

My girlfriend has had the B account for quite a long time and she often talks about a similar problem with the app doing something like that to her. She'll tell me she can buy something and then the payment will come back out, go back in. Or go out for the wrong amount and it sounds like a nightmare. She literally has to write notes of her income and outgoings one by one. Whether it's her wage from work, or something I send her, or she spends money on some new clothes or something. It's all there in the note. Sounds like a pain in the backside. So you're not the only one :eek:0 -
