Offer £250 to switch to Clydesdale, Yorkshire or B

After phone calls yesterday where I kept being told I could switch online (my account is already up and running) which I couldn't I was eventually told to phone the switching service today. Have to say the standard of response was very poor I genuinely think they were making it up as they went along! Phoned them this morning and 'due to circumstances beyond their control' the switching team aren't taking any calls. Arghh, very frustrating, as a serial switcher I have never had any problems in the past but this is enough to put you off. If it was any less than £250 I would of given up by now. Anyone else having similar problems?0

I have just checked and despite not able to quote the long debit card number across the middle of the card and only the sort code and my account number the switching is going through without any problems.
Thats one good thing with a NW account they show the switch is in progress.0 -
7 thanks to the OP who made us aware of this offer long before MSE emails went out.
I know "thanks" don't achieve anything for the OP but even so, 7?

Still only 10 thanks for the OP.
But 20400 views and 333 replies - so why don't a few more people say thank you?
It's easy - just scroll to the top of any page in this thread and the OP's post is there... It only needs a click.0 -

The phone line for switching existing accounts is still not being answered so, as I was getting concerned that if they are so inundated that they are going to pull the plug on the £250, I got out the mobile and applied for the B account. As I was already an existing customer all the previous information was there so it only took a few minutes to open up and most importantly switch my bank account over. Didn't have so much luck with hubbys as early on in the application they said he needed to phone them but at least we've got one sorted out.0 -
I'm in the process of opening up a NatWest account. Can I switch it as soon as it's live or is this going to be a problem?
I have a first direct account, but I would rather not switch that one as they are good.0 -

Yes, and I've seen the text on the YB web page - just wanted to be sure... as I have no intention of using the app.Free thinker.:cool:0 -

I would but I first learnt of this offer in Money Mail.0 -
what? where? how?
edit: NW = Nationwide / Natwest?
Nationwide.
Finally managed to complete the opening of the new account and initiated my switch to Yorkshire Bank by phone on Friday morning and on Saturday I noticed that against the Nationwide Flexaccount being sacrificed it states "This account is switching out" on the internet banking overview page.0
