Offer £250 to switch to Clydesdale, Yorkshire or B

That's why I always put my answers into my password manager straight away, same as a password. I also avoid using capital letters and spaces if at all possible. This is admittedly being a bit picky considering the amount of cash on offer for a switch but I really don't like their choice of security questions. I've already forgotten the one that their system is now asking me. To be more accurate I've forgotten exactly how I typed it so it keeps getting rejected.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0 -
Completed application only to be informed I am already a customer. I am not. I had a branch/postal savings account years ago...
Anyone in the same situation?
Update: done by 'phone in the end. Wasn't aware you needed to have your debit card to hand.
YB c/s said the offer is on other current accounts not just B.Free thinker.:cool:0 -
By the way, you can turn off paper statements on the B app by clicking he space hopper and then the settings cog...0

Still only 10 thanks for the OP.
But 20400 views and 333 replies - so why don't a few more people say thank you?
It's easy - just scroll to the top of any page in this thread and the OP's post is there... It only needs a click.I would but I first learnt of this offer in Money Mail.
I did, and provided the link, despite the fact that it is of no use to me as a previous recipient of Yorkshire Bank/Clydesdale's generosity:cool:
Just because you don't benefit, doesn't mean you can't say Thank You0 -
No - the opposite - I had an old account with YB (de-registered in their parlance) and I got opened with Clydesdale. So try that..?Completed application only to be informed I am already a customer. I am not. I had a branch/postal savings account years ago...

I have been stuck on the "Yes, Open My Account" button for the best part of an hour now. Rang them up and they said the systems are very busy and to let it run its course. She even suggested that I leave my laptop plugged in at work so as not to interrupt the connection.
Willing to try again tomorrow but I just don't want multiple applications happening and I'm not sure on how far this one has got now (credit checks etc)
EDIT
Closed the web page and just went through the retrieve an application process on my phone. Straight through now0 -
Gosh I am so sorry to hear the problems people are having opening this account.
I only heard about it yesterday (on here) and applied immediately and was accepted instantly and given an account number and sortcode. It was the easiest account I ever opened. Guess I just went on the site at the right time.0 -
Nationwide.
Finally managed to complete the opening of the new account and initiated my switch to Yorkshire Bank by phone on Friday morning and on Saturday I noticed that against the Nationwide Flexaccount being sacrificed it states "This account is switching out" on the internet banking overview page.
nothing showing on my or my OH NW online banking. both accounts have had the "thanks for switching" emails from YB and CB respectively though.
both NW accounts are flex direct with switching dates a couple of weeks away yet.0 -
I imagine it will appear 7 working days before your switch is due - don't think your current bank is notified until then.nothing showing on my or my OH NW online banking. both accounts have had the "thanks for switching" emails from YB and CB respectively though.
