I've already set up a standing order for the two £1,000 deposits. My only concern at this stage is whether I'll be able to get the £1k back out as I need a security token and although I ordered one, I am not convinced it went through, time will tell.

Phone them up to get a SO set-up.

    HTHs.

    Thanks for this.

Does that override the otherwise daily limit then?

Well yes, asap, the offer states within 31 days I think. But the offer was pulled this morning, so technically you'll only be eligible if you started the process before that.

A post above (#358) suggests that they've said that if you opened the account before the offer was pulled you're still eligible for the switching bonus, so you might be ok.

But if you haven't yet started a switch I'd ring them to get reassurance first!

I didn't get my account opened email until 11:39 so missed out.
    Thanks for your help though.

Annie12 .... If you ring up, watch out for slightly ambiguous answers from CB/YB customer service (I'm not implying they are worse than any other Bank!) ..... I had to be very specific with my questions before they actually answered what I was asking. They have a habit of just quoting the nearest answer, verbatim off the T&C sheets .... and that might not specifically answer what you asked!

I may be wrong but I seem to have spoken to what sounded like new agency staff trying to cope with the avalanche of new customer calls!
  • I applied as an existing customer last Wednesday 25th and got the we need more time and will contact you within 2 working days.

Didn't receive anything, so called today and was told that my application had been approved and I managed to organise my switch over the phone.

I asked if I was eligible for £250 switch incentive and was told I was, as I'd applied prior to it being pulled.

Worth others in the same situation calling.

Apologies if this has been covered but has anyone received anything regarding their switch other than the first email? Should we expect anything or will nothing happen until nearer the date (mine I asked for 11 Nov)

For previous switches I've done all that I've had is a letter (usually) from the original bank saying we're told you're switching, sorry to see you leave and let us know if this isn't the case, plus a few days later a letter/email from the new bank saying your switch is now complete, usually listing any DDs etc that the previous bank has provided for the switch. And that's about it for the switch.

These are all the e-mails I've received from them:

    Within minutes of account opening:
    1 - Welcome
2 - Thank you for requesting switch
3 - Thank you for registering with telephone and digital banking

    E-mail yesterday:
4 - Detailing about how to get the £250 switch bonus

My switch is dated for 10/11/17. Account opened 27/10/17.

With B, we received an email to thank us for switching pretty much as soon as the account was opened. With Yorkshire Bank, we received an email the day after the account was opened to thank us for switching and giving us details of what we needed to do to get the £250 bonus.

Edit - Just received a letter confirming all the details.

Thanks for the replies - that is about what I have had too. Obviously nothing until later on..
