Go do that building notice - make it the first thing you do after that coffee :)

CC and I rode past a house with a fabulous border - the length of a detached old house (large) with snowdrops hellebores and then elephant ears just coming up. It was a complete joy to see. I'll keep a look out to see if the summer sees it as just the elephant ears or if something else pops up.

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Building control notice is completed online (weirdly the downloadable version and the online version are very different). Haven't submitted and paid yet but will do that shortly. And I do intend to try to get some work done today too!

Haven't done Pilates yet, but my mum is on her way over.

For some reason the cats are playing inside rather than going outside. I assume it has something to do with the wind.

I'm hoping to get primroses and snowdrops and aconites along the bank at the front Watty. I've just had a T&M email through with an offer on snowdrops, and am considering it, but it's a member offer and I think my membership has run out so have to work out whether it will be worth it.

Wind is very undignified when it gets into one's Feline Fur … I speak as one who has been told this by a number of cats …. 😉

My mum has dropped off 9kg of muntjac, which I think will last us 22 days. So cheaper than commercial petfood (they still get this - Stinky has grain free kibble and a bit of puppy kibble as we are still using up the last sack; cats get a tin in the morning and kibble when I leave the house/lunchtime) at £1/day for 2 cats and a dog. And probably more nutritious. Certainly more delicious if the volume in the evening is anything to go by. So that needs dealing with over the course of the afternoon.

We also took Stinky for a short walk. After she left I reviewed edits of three podcast episodes (two good, one mediocre) and now need to write intros/outros and any links we need and get them recorded. I've also done a short pilates mobility session to keep it in my routine, done Stinky's paw massage and given him and the cats lunch.

I've made my lunch and am halfway through eating it (fridge-bottom soup). Dunhelm have been in touch to say that the fabric is now in for my curtains, so hopefully they and the septic tank pump will turn up soon!

    Planning notice submitted.

Four pensions logged into and notes made of totals (haven't looked at performance!). Need to find the login details for the fifth pension and then consider consolidation options and review investments. Also have to check my endowment policy details and premium bonds. Also reviewed my S&S ISA. Past me was very sensible to invest in this as the money has been sitting pretty much being ignored for 15+ years but working hard.

Obviously the extension needs doing, and heat pump, and then I need really work out what I need in terms of income when I retire at what ages and how I can fund it. Paying the mortgage off will clearly help with that!

Time spent sorting out my investments would be an idea. I've been ignoring them for about 15 years…

Ticket submitted for Stripey cat's feeder faults as they're annoying me.

I also messaged the electrician to warn him about upcoming work - he says he'll be happy to do the work even though I have no clue what or when :D

So lots of work and kitchen tidying ignored but lots of annoying things done. I obviously need to have a clear up in my office so I can get to paperwork more easily. And I have two muntjac to deal with… but first I need to get some work done and Stinky will need another walk soon.

And I've just chopped up the muntjac, weighing and portioning it as I go. Which took about an hour. Now I need to move it into the freezer, along with all the pulses. I managed to (over)cook supper at the same time.

Every time you mention the muntjac task I find myself trying to imagine how you go about it ….

Do you have to skin it as well, or is that bit done? Do you use a cleaver, a saw on the bones, or something else.

I’m imagining it must be pretty hard work and take a while!
