Don't seem to have got much rest… but most of the dog beds are now clean and almost dry. The lick mats and kongs are filled and nearly all frozen, and the pinto beans have been cooked (just waiting for them to depressurise and check whether they need a bit longer… which I think they will, before I do chickpeas).

Cheap electricity overnight and for quite a bit of tomorrow, so am going to stick a load of towels on overnight which can go in the TD tomorrow. I'll also run the DW, do a drum clean on the WM and descale the kettle and WM. And consider whether I need to cook anymore pulses. And possibly hoover up the vast amount of dog hair in the kitchen - it was only cleaned on Thursday, so I'm not sure why it's quite so bad…

Two more muntjac are due to be delivered on Monday, so I'll have the fun job of cutting those up and freezing them while being harrassed by the animals.

I think your days with minimum rest are like here a long and relentless list of to dos around animals and saving some money! You have reminded me I need to do a WM clean too.

I'm rubbish at resting. I thought pottering would work, but standing up is an issue as it raises my heart rate.

Anyway, all dog beds are now clean, towels are washed and dried, WM has been cleaned (filter cleaned, drawer scrubbed, and drum clean run - filter always seems to be pretty stinky), TD filter has been washed and I need to work out how to get the stuff out of the condenser (this may involve looking at the instructions). I've also got a clothes was in at the moment.

Dog has had two walks, hibiscrub on the his toe, feet washed twice, and coconut oil put on twice. His pads are starting to feel better, but I don't think I'm going to be able to do daily doggy pedicures for the rest of his life, so I hope the problem resolves itself! He's very fed up - as am I. It's nice outside (bit windy) and we could have had a nice long walk in the sunshine and finished weeding the asparagus bed. Instead I fell asleep halfway through a cup of coffee.

I've had salad for lunch again, and tonight have the rest of the stuffed Uchiki Kuri squash I made last night. Cooking is a massive energy drain if you try to eat properly! DW has finished and will need emptying. Pulses have all been packed up but need labelling and bunging in the freezer.

Office house plants were discovered to be keeling over last night, so were soaked and the survivors have been tidied up and put back. Sitting room and studio houseplants are now going through the same process. Dead ones are being composted. I have masses, and may have to cut down on numbers for a bit, but they do help prevent mould in bathrooms and also make the office nicer and improve the backdrop in the studio (as long as they're not dead!). Hopefully I can keep enough alive for now and create a better set up when the new office is done.

Still haven't done the building notice…

My houseplants are suffering lately too. I had three casualties that had to be thrown in the compost and I've managed to save most but a couple are looking very sorry for themselves including a 40+ year old spider plant which I'll be devastated if I lose as I've had it since moving out of my mother's house.

All that washing sounds stressful I remember when my FLD used to be very sick especially towards the end of his life and I'd end up having to wash everything almost continuously it felt like. It was stressful. I also washed my WM with some cleaner stuff I found the other day. I found it at the back of the cupboard so thought I'd use it before losing it again 🙈🤣.

I don't use special WM cleaner - it either gets soda crystals (very rarely as I put them in the wash as a softener) to de-gunk it or citric acid to descale (more important as we have very hard water). Citric acid is my usual descaler.

Most of the bigger/older plants have recovered after spending 12 hours in a washing up bowl full of water (or rather, the three washing-up bowls of water taking up most of the kitchen worktops).

Dog laundry has got to this point because I let it build up rather than doing things regularly - but that's partly because there's been no sun, and Agile prices have been high, and I've been tired!

There's a basked of dry towels to put away, and one of wet clothes to put on the airer.

Dog has been taken outside and brushed, but is clearly bored and restless as he's wandering around. I might take him for a short walk before having another coffee and a rest.

I'm still considering ordering 1000 snowdrops in the green and splitting them with my mum… I'm struggling to find where the best price is and work out whether to order now or wait for a couple of weeks and hope that prices come down.

Ooh I love a snowdrop. And crocuses. We've none here. My old old house was covered in them, they really brighten up a dull day 😊

I didn't think there were snowdrops or crocuses here, but it turns out there were plenty under the 'hedges' that had been created out of the borders. And @redofromstart donated hundreds of snowdrops last spring which are coming up in the orchard (turns out I also transplanted some crocuses, which i'd forgotten about). Having seen how spectacular my cousin's are just from dividing year after year for the last 20-odd years, it's really worth putting in the effort early on.

Stinky has had another walk (ridiculously short according to him) and I'm now recovering on the sofa with coffee and satsumas. Hopefully I'll get the washing hung up/put away and the DW emptied and refilled before bedtime.
