Freezing cold here. Busy trying to get all my security cameras up and running properly as I let most of the batteries run down and need them all online to upgrade the app and make sure they are working properly.

Builders are here - progress seems to be slowing, once again due to the lack of project plan. The door guy seems to be on holiday so can't come and measure and therefore we can't order the doors, and the plasterer's availability is poor so that's going to push stuff out. I'm going to talk to them l later and get some dates confirmed so I can book flooring, electrics, and decorating. Hopefully that will galvanise them into action. I'm not exactly motivated to pack up more of the house if I don't know when they'll actually be doing the work. But I would like to be able to book in other people so there's an outside chance of getting things finished before winter.

I'm fairly horrified by how chilly it is today greenbee - and yes, we too had a frost this morning, although MrEH reckoned it hadn't quite reached the ground. For goodness sake, it should be warmer than this consistently in May, surely?!

I was always told that I should assume that there could be random frosts up to the end of May and I have always worked to that. Climate change has shifted that a bit, especially last year (hooray for having a spring with some rain this year!) but obviously not consistently ….

lit the fire last night and had a hot water bottle at bed time but struggling to get up this morning. Need to get out of bed soon as I have to put the bins out, put the doorbell and security cameras back up, wash up, clean not-Fatty’s feeder (at least make it less disgusting), work out what to pack for a work trip for me and a stay with my mum for Stinky, walk Stinky, have lunch, get over to my mum’s, and get to the station for a specific train as I stupidly booked an advance ticket not an anytime …

I no longer have a tiny wheely suitcase, which is annoying. But not worth getting a new one to be used a couple of times a year. So I’ll be taking one that I usually use for a week (still hand baggage size on flights, but bigger than I need for overnight - however I don’t want to carry a bag around all day). I guess at least I means I can take a selection of clothes and possibly my HWB too!

I had the heating pad in my lap all day and even turned it up a notch once the sun had set! Brrrrr it feels like winter again and I noticed the potted baby trees on the patio are struggling with the cold nights.
