You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
I hope you enjoy your Saturday Saunter, HH, and find some nice books. I seem to have been in some sort of timewarp recxently, I can't seem to keep tabs on the days/dates:o. You may already be en route or even have arrived at your relatives' home in readiness for your Dad and Stepmum's party, in which case I hope you have a relaxing and fun time. It will do you good to have your mind taken up by happy things after all you've been through recently:beer:
I know it feels distinctly Autumnal this morning. Lovely and sunny with a pale blue cloudless sky but it's very breezy and decidedly chilly. Not sure if I'm pleased or not but I do know I suffered during those baking hot few weeks this summer:eek:.0 -
We travelled to the South East on Friday and stayed with my stepsister for two nights. My dad and stepmum's anniversary party was on the Saturday. I found the party upsetting at times. It was nice seeing individual relatives, but I kept thinking about my mum and it was all a bit overwhelming.
On Sunday we met DH's brother for lunch. He looked very well considering and is due a review soon so we're hoping for the best. On Monday we took DS3 to look at the outside of his new university and the town it's on the outskirts of. It looked very nice. Then we went for a walk at a nearby lake. We drove home yesterday.
The journey up was a bit of a nightmare as we had a flat tyre (nail) so left home two hours late and then hit loads of traffic, so didn't arrive until nearly 10pm. The journey home was much better.
After getting home around 6.30pm yesterday, we then collected DS2 from the coach station around 11.30pm as he is home from Spain. I'm so happy to have DS2 home, but so sad because my mum would have been so delighted he was back and full of questions about his trip
.
I just feel an emotional mess today and been in tears most of the day. I'm happy and sad that DS2 is home, know how much I will miss DS3 when he goes to uni in three weeks time, and missing my mum so very very much. I hope I feel better tomorrow.

Not surprised you have felt overwhelmed today. At least you went to the party and did what you needed to do. Glad DS2 has made it home safe and well. Hope the tyre is now well and truly sorted out. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The letter from your mum sounds so lovely. Did she have an inkling or was it something she did just in case?
Glad you've got DS2 back safe and sound, DS3 will have a whale of a time and will be back with his washing and to look in your fridge/food cupboard at regular intervals.
You're not going to feel better about your mum yet, it's too soon, just take one day at a time, you'll get there eventually xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
