I've got a slow cooker, it's fab. I've done Gammon in Cola before in it, it's lovely! (even though it sounds revolting). I can't remember what recipe I used, I know there's a slimming world one using diet coke."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I have a small slow cooker from Lakeland , tend to use it more in the winter.
Hope you have had a good day HHOD, and enjoyed a walk outside with your DH.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks Cumbria. I went to MrT with my stepdad this morning. I spent £60 and got a petrol voucher. We're stiĺl getting used to the new store.
Then I did more laundry and cleaned the skirting boards up the stairs and in the bathroom. I also cleaned some of the grouting in the bathroom with a toothbrush, the grouting has gone ftom black to beige now. Then I planted some chrysanthemums and a bluberry bush in proper pots. Then finally went for a short walk with DS1 at 5pm (DH said he was too busy). Then I cooked dinner.
I feel quite tired now! The house is gradually starting to look better. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks Nicnak. I'm okay. I've been doing laundry, housework, cleaning out the furry moron and packing.
I also looked through the family history stuff that my mum always wanted me to have because she knew I would value it, and I found a lovely letter from her that she wanted me to read after her death. It made me happy and sad. I will treasure it always. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I didn't know she'd written any letters so it was a lovely surprise. She'd written one to me, my stepdad and my sister. It's so lucky I found them.
After someone dies you always wonder if they knew how much you loved them, especially if it's a sudden death. But thanks to the letter I know that my mum did know, which gives me some comfort. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
