  • Does the council base their decision to pay HB and CTX purely on the person's income, or does the number of hours worked have anything to do with it?

    I honestly think you need to get clarity on whether you are going to be an employee or not before you ask any more questions.

    Be aware that you won't get your ni stamp paid if you are an employee.

    You need payslips and if you don't get them you won't get housing benefit

    Is it possible for me to just ask for payslips? Is this something that they could easily do?

    Also, if I earn more than JSA even though I'm working less than 16 hours per week, will my JSA claim automatically close?

    If you earn more than your jsa you won't be entitled to jsa.

    I would ask yes

    No, if you work less than 16 hours
    And earn more than JSA

    JSA will stay open and you have to keep signing on, and declaring each time you get paid and what dates you worked for that payment.

    JSA will give you a form to take away and fill out when you work...B57 or a BF57 or something like that.
