Anyone up for the new Iphone X?

I'm not sure what real estate you would be missing.....I have the S8+ and the edge panel takes up zero space on the screen, unless I want to view something on it.
I find it handy to have some tools to hand....Like short cuts to take screenshots, start recording, turn on one handed mode etc. All to conveniently placed without messing about.

It doesnt take up space but if that curved element was flat,it would be more usable IMHOfor the likes of media playback.
The same shortcuts could be sitting to the side of a flat screen.

Ah! I see what you mean....Thats where the S7 and S8 differ. Nothing is taken up with/on the curve on the S8. Only the edge panels, which you slide in or out at will.

Well we will have to disagree. I run a Note 8 and still feel it serves little purpose, and the curves are flatter than the S8.

Well, as it can be disabled, it's a pointless discussion really.....However, it did serve to stop the Samsung/Apple pointless discussion.

Well Apple doesn't think they are going to sell many of the'X'.

Read from a news source that Apple have cut the request from their suppliers for parts for the 'X' by 40%.

Personally you have either got to be a You-tuber, a celeb or a brain dead person to buy a common mass produced phone for over £1,000.
