Well Apple doesn't think they are going to sell many of the'X'.

Read from a news source that Apple have cut the request from their suppliers for parts for the 'X' by 40%.

Personally you have either got to be a You-tuber, a celeb or a brain dead person to buy a common mass produced phone for over £1,000. :o

    Wow I must be a ghost :p

  • Still using my iphone 5s, I would love to get an iphone X.. Sometimes I'm not all that sensible when it comes to money, I like to treat myself now and again. But the price tag on the iphone x is far far beyond justification. If it was £600, I might already be ordering.. an even that's ridiculous.. but no way can £1000 on a phone be remotely rational.

if £1000 is too much for a phone then the market will decide and it won't sell and next year apple won't sell a phone for £1000. But years ago people complained £600 was too much for a phone but now its common place for flagship phones to sell well above that price point.

I wouldn't spend £100 on a weekend of eating out and drinking but I get why some people do it as it brings them pleasure and value. The same goes for buying expensive phones, cars and holidays.... each to their own!

Unless you know my workflow and what I use computing devices for then what you say is meaningless.

All the best editing a spreadsheet or doing any meaningful word processing on a 5.8" screen without it eventually driving you mad. There's a reason that Apple released the iPad Pro and its because people found using their iPhone as their sole computing device frustrating for anything serious.

Absolutely get the device that best suits ones workflow and that they can afford.

The phone market has gone the same way as the car leasing industry, I think this explains some 'flagship pricing'. People upsize their lifestyle on credit and this is what the manufacturers like. Till the next credit crunch of course.
