The price isn’t a rumour, Apple UK list the 64GB iPhone X at £999, or £1149 for the 256GB model.
I prefer the smaller SE, a bit cheaper at £349/£449 for 32/128GB. Ours are the original 64GB ones that cost £439 in May 2016. I’ve used 20GB, not sure about my OH.
I won’t be rushing to replace our SE phones...0 -

I will probably get it as I want to start converging all my tech into one device. Rather than replace my iPad, Mac, phone and fuij camera individually in the future
Also probably just pay a flat rate for the iPhone X through the Apple upgrade program and get the latest phone every year.
Main reasons are
The power of the A11 chip
Refinement of the two cameras year on year (hardware and software) Largest screen that has a smaller body than the iPhone 8+
Time feels right to go to one computer device for all my needs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
^^ The iPhone X proudly boasts all the technology that Galaxy users have been enjoying for ages

Get a cheap Android phone. They do the things you mainly buy a phone for - call, text, social media. Paying £1k for an iPhone is just paying 400% premium for gimmicks....0

A bit of a jump from a £140 to £999 phone OP?
I paid a lot of money for my iPhone 7 last year but this is used for everything, it’s replaced my laptop, desktop, tablet, camera and satnav and I can take it anywhere.
You don’t really need anything else unless you do a lot of computer work with spreadsheets and stuff, most people don’t.
But you don’t need an iPhone as such but the cliche it just works is true and the customer service is second to none. You do pay for it though.
If the iPhone x was the same price as the iPhone 8 I would be tempted to upgrade but I do think this is over priced even for apple.0 -
