What has that got to do with anything?
You mentioned a couple of technical reasons why you would drop 1k on a phone.
I pointed out that better technology has been around for a while and doesn't cost a grand.
Rumored iPhone X- Display: 5.8in 2436 x 1125 OLED HDR
- Storage: 64GB and 256GB
- CPU and RAM: A11 Bionic chip, 3GB RAM
- Front Camera: 7MP
- Rear Camera: 12MP dual-lens, dual-OIS, 4K video recording
- Extras: Face ID, wireless charging
- Display: 5.8 and 6.2in 2960x1440 Super AMOLED Display
- Storage: 64GB internal, 256GB expandable
- CPU and RAM: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos 8895 Processor, 4GB RAM
- Front Camera: 8MP with autofocus
- Rear Camera: 12MP, 4K video recording, optical image stabilization.
- Extras: Iris scanner
Clear now ?
And as for your phone replacing you desktop computer - well I don't know what to say to that except - LOL0 -
The non existent queues to buy it this morning said it all
The X is not out.
Plus don't base things on queues outside a shop. Base it on what the company report every three months. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Unless you know my workflow and what I use computing devices for then what you say is meaningless. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
^^ This thread isnt about you ..
Some apple fans are soooo defensive its funny
Dont get me wrong, I like my iphone (work one) but all the hype for old tech branded as new , coupled with pocket busting prices is just laughable..
Go on - Ill bite , how do YOU justify the 1k price tag ?
You mentioned a couple of points, which i pointed out have been available on other devices for a while .. So what is it that makes YOU want to drop 1k on this ?0 -

The last sentence, maybe, but the rest is on the button.
I understand why people buy into the Apple infrastructure and would never say that they don't provide for their market and they have a good product. However, it's been a while since they offered any innovation.
If you really want to be a one device user then the Galaxy S8 or Note 8 combined with the Dex station, gives it you all.
All that said. Flagship phones have just gone bananas price wise.
A phone that sells for twice the price of a good computer and sells, probably, ten times (plus) the units, has to be ripping someone off.
I have a Galaxy S8, £779 at launch, I didn't pay retail for it so bought it and sold a Galaxy S6, this brought it into the realms of an OK expense for a phone to last a couple of years.
My Wife has a Moto G4 and rarely finds anything that can't be done. Paying £1000 for an iPhone, quite frankly, is madness. Especially as in a few months time it will be going for a lot less than that.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

The OP asked is anyone getting it and I answered their question and the reason why. i don't know how else to answer the question?
I then replied to your statement as I seen no relationship to what the OP said and what I said. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hot uk deals had an xiaomi phone the other day for £95 , 3gb ram , 32gb storage , fingerprint reader
and stock android (no malware)
If it was the redmi note 4, I bought one and its absolutely superb.
I am never paying a 300% markup again for a phone!!
Its no word of a lie the best phone ive ever had, and the battery lasts 2 days!!The instructions on the box said 'Requires Windows 7 or better'. So I installed LINUX
