I've just got a letter from Aqua saying they'll pay me but BACK ON TO THEY CREDIT CARD!
This card is cancelled so they'll only be giving themselves the money back, surely this can't be right?
What can I do now?
Don't worry, they haven't given themselves the money, they've given it to you but in an inconvenient form.
At worst, you'll have to use the card until the balance is exhausted. But give them a ring. I'm not sure what your legal standing is, but I would expect them to send it to you in the circumstances. I hope someone else can be more definitive on your rights here. However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts0 -

When I claimed off the Halifax they tried to fob me off saying that the £12 charge was fair but I argued the toss and had a cheque for the full amount last week.0

So far for me, Barclaycard have offered to pay the £35 they owe me; I am awaiting it into my back account.
My other two claims are not so clear-cut though and I would appreciate some advice on what to do next. Norwich and Peterborough/Halifax, who I am claiming the paltry sum of £84 from, are refusing to entertain it, sending me a letter claiming that it was in their terms and conditions, they have to pass the costs on to the customer (i.e. me) and because all of the charges to my account have been of the lesser £12 fee, they are 'unable to offer any refunds.' So, do I chase this up? If so, what do I do next? This is a result of the first letter to them I add.
Nat West on the other hand, who I am claiming £500 from, have put £120 back onto my card to cover the addition difference between the £12 and £20 fees I have paid. No mention of interest and no payment of it either. Now I didn't realise that it was put through with immediate effect, no questions asked. I had to tap into this money too, as I had to travel up to Norfolk to visit my mother in hospital, as she had just had a stroke. As far as Nat West are concerned the matter is closed, but there is still a lot of money in terms of difference. What do I do?0 -
Hello, could someone post the 2nd template letter? I can't open the link on my computer
Thanks!0 -
Hi all well i sent off my 1st letters requesting the total amount of charges from HSBC, Mint and GE Money (for my storecard) on 16th april. Yesterday i received a letter from mint along with a list of my charges and they also sent my £10 cheque back. I have read that mint can be hard to claim from. Ive got £344 total charges (which is a lot considering my credit limit was £400), although the majority of those charges were for £12. Only 4 charges are for £20. Is it still worth claiming and do i claim the interest or not?

I believe that you can only claim the £20 charges as the £12 charges would have been after the OFT said that they thought this was a fair charge.
However I may be wrong.0 -
Sirry to hijack your thread but i just wanted to ask you girl racer what it was you said to Halifax to make them pay up? Did you ask them to send you a break down of each charge so you were shown it added up to £12 or did you just send a letter saying you did not accept their argument? Im claiming from mint at the mo and the majority of my charges are £12 so thats why im asking!
thanks
