Please help.... I am about to send my letter to barclaycard to ask for charges back, but im not sure whether i need to send the letter by recorded delivery or special delivery, whats the norm??
ThanksI need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:0 -
brunette girl - they should be able to tell you at the post office. i always ask them which one is it for them signing at the other end when i go coz i always forget!!
they usually then ask me if there is any value in the letter/parcel, i say no, and then they send it for me!!
im really mad today, since i FINALLY got my credit card statements back from barclaycard (after sending them a cheque for £10 a million years ago) and a very snotty letter from them saying words to the effect of 'thanks for your ten pound payment for your statements, here they are, but you should be grateful since we dont actually have to send you the microfiche ones, and out of the goodness of our hearts we have done on this occasion, dont bother writing back to ask for your money because we think our charges are fair and arent going to entertain the idea of refunding you anything'
HOW SNOTTY!! Are they usually that mean?debt free wannabe (or at least half my current debts!) by july 2015...very - 950.00

Hi all,
a quick question on 2 fronts.
i started reclaiming my charges this time last year for a halifax credit card and hfc. But basically i got to the point of nearly taking them to court but didn't due to northern ireland court service being confusing. Now i want to resume this process, can i just carry on from where i left off by going to the FOS?
Also i have been recieving numerous debt collection demands from various companies for my halifax visa, and ive told each of them that its in despute BUT i have had no contact from HFC for nearly a year, they used to be on the phone 6-7 times a day (have they just written it off cos they know they will need to refund my charges?)
Any advice would be apreciated

Hi all
I am very new to all this and have just started reclaiming cc charges, can anyone help me with next directory? I sent my £10 with 1st letter but they have credited it to my account and sent letter back saying they do not apply charges for exceeding credit limits and only charge £5 from april 06 for late fees. They have not sent any statments.
Is this correct?? should I leave it??
Thanks

Got a reply from egg today saying 'we dont owe you anything, contact the financial ombudsman' when i had written a letter claiming £80.
should i write them a letter saying ' ive now written to the FOS', or just leave it up to the FOS?

Can someone please advise me...
About 4 years ago I let my mother use my credit card to purchase goods for her company as they were going through a sticky period! To cut a long story short, the card details were retained by her supplier on their system. I asked her to get them removed, they removed the wrong details (she had a second card registered with them and they removed those instead) and when she made further purchases they were then made against my card instead of the other card.
I wasn't expecting any purchases against the card so was surprised when Lloyds informed me that I had gone £2000 over my limit. I questioned how this was possible as surely the limit was there for a reason!! But was told that this didn't always stop purchases going on the card. I was shocked and decided that the best way to deal with the debt was to transfer it to a loan (with Lloyds) which we did. It's only now that I'm thinking about there being some way of Lloyds having liability for allowing the debt to go over the limit and therefore being liable for some/all of that 2k and/or any charges. Am I in the wrong? I have always paid my way so I'm not trying to wriggle out of my own debt but feel aggrieved that I'm paying for this!! My parents can't pay me back as their business closed and they have been made bankrupt (they owe me lots of money which I will never see).
Any advice gratefully received.0 -
I have claimed back my credit charges from Lloyds TSB and Aqua. I'm currently waiting for the money from Lloyds TSB to be put into my account.
I've just got a letter from Aqua saying they'll pay me but BACK ON TO THEY CREDIT CARD!
This card is cancelled so they'll only be giving themselves the money back, surely this can't be right?
What can I do now?0 -
hi,
The f.o won my money back from mint cards for me, but i have just recieved a letter from them saying they have put it back on to my credit card, which i dont have anymore as they put a stop on the account, i am in arrears of £99.00 with them which i am paying back by the 30th of this month, but they said they cant put this into my current account like the other cards i have got my money back from, was looking forward to my £340 spend

Hi, Can someone let me know what is happening with the bank charges thing? Do they have to give them back now? I know the court case thing was in progress, but every time I ask the bank about it they just say the case is till ongoing. I sent my letter off in about April last year and since then have had 1 letter saying they believe it was lawful??
Any ideas??0
