Hi all, ive posted this before but as a little follow up. I have now managed to claim back £400 from CAp one, £800 from Barclays and a staggering £1200 from MBNA. This now effectivily means i have claimed every penny back that i have ever been charged. Its been as simple as a few letters straight from this site!!!!
    You have nothing to lose.

    Godd luck

Hi New to the forum but not the website. I managed to reclaim £3,000 back in bank charges last July from LloydsTSB following Martin's guide. Thanks Martin.
I am currently claimimg back £1,275 from MBNA Abbey c/card.
I have received a letter back saying they will review my case and will contact me by 9th April with their response. I am sure it will be their standard good will gesture for the equivalent of a happy meal so obviously i will accept but still push for the rest. The thing is i had quite a few £12 charges in there too. Are they paying these £12 charges back or are they dragging their heels with these since the FOS ok'd £12?

At first they did not want to pay back these new lower charges, but with a 2nd letter i found they all did, straight away! Go for it, get it all!

    Hi,

I am trying to reclaim charges from MBNA of around £700 including interest.

I have sent the first letter and they replied saying that they would investigate fully and respound by 8/04/2008, which is a month after my letter.

I have not heard anything more from them so i have sent them the second letter telling them that i will take court action to recover the costs unles i hear from them within 14 days.

Has any body had a similar experience with MNBA?

I had the same problem with A&L MBNA.

Sent my request for £500, they replied offering £150. i replied saying reconsider please within 14 days and i've not had a reply to that. so i left it a week and have sent it to the FOS and copied A&L in.

I recieved my first offer letter today - from capital one - they offered £132 as a 'goodwill' gesture. My original claim was for £314. Should i not be greedy and just accept their offer? Any help would be much appreciated. :p

What've you got to lose hold out longer I have got a complaint ongoing with FOS on cap one they originally offered me £146, claim was for £689 including interest. be careful if you send acceptance letter must put "without prejudice". cap one are trying to say I accepted as full and final settlement. No way . Keep sending them letters

    thankyou, :)

ive now posted off a letter refusing their offer - the whole claim including interest was actually £432, but i quoted on here the price before interest was added. the only thing is, i did say that i would be prepared to take £300 if they settled now, rather than them go to court. not sure what kind of response i will get, but we shall see!! ;)
debt free wannabe (or at least half my current debts!) by july 2015...very - 950.00
    rbs loan - 6,800.00
    barclaycard - 5,580.00
capital one - 1,700.00  scary stuff, but im determined to be frugal and pay off my debts xxx

I had a drawn out process with A&L MBNA took nearly 4 months but I was'nt going anywhere after 2 letters they offered goodwill payment of £302 I was asking for £926.40 this included interest!- sent 3rd letter threatening court action. Three weeks later they agreed to pay full amount.even if you don't want to go to court say it you can always use the FOS. just hold out

    Hello everybody!

I have recently recieved copies of all my statements from Citi and I'm about to send my letter requesting a refund. I was wondering if anyone has a success story relating to CitiCards or if someone can offer advise specific to the company?
    Thanks
  • Hi, I am trying to reclaim some credit card charges but do not have all of my old statements. Today I called my bank to see if I could get my old statements and was told that it would cost £5 for the last three statements and then £5 per statement for any older statements. To me this seems a bit extortionate as to get the past three years worth would be £180. Is this allowed or are the bank breaking any rules by charging this. The past six years of current account statements has only cost me £10 for all. Please can anyone advise?
