Can I claim refund of credit card charges made up to 2004 please?
The first sentence of it addresses your question
... and it's covered more comprehensively later on"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I need some advise pls.Pretty new to this forum. I'm in the process of reclaiming credit card charges from barclaycard. Calculated the late charges etc and have the total. My question is this. 2 years ago barclaycard and I agreed on a repayment plan, my card cut in half and interest stopped. all is good and my see my balance reducing nicely. Last year, they reintroduced interest(albeit small compared to normal rates), when I queried and said my financial situation is the same they ignored my position. They also started late charges(£12) and sadly the balance is not reducing as quickly as I would like. Are they allowed to reintroduce interest on my account even when I am on a repayment plan. Can I claim the late charges for this period because I feel it is unfair?0

Can someone please help me?? I have recently (after many weeks) managed to agree to accept £254 from Capital One for charges. However, even though my debt with them has been sold on, they have now sent me a letter saying that my refund has been used against my debt with them, ARGHHHH. Can they do that? I dont owe them the money as they sold the debt. Any help would be grately appreciated please. I REALLY need that money :-(0

This will depend on what the terms of the original agreement you made with them over the repayment plan.
You can attempt to reclaim the £12 fees which you allege are unfair, but as they are not more than £12 (the figure at which the OFT will automatically consider such fees to be unfair unless proven otherwise) then it may be down to you to pursue this through court yourself.
Presumabaly you accept there is a cost involved in you defaulting on the original credit agreement, even if that is not £12. What value would you think is fair?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Hi money savers
I apologise if this question has been asked before. I know i can put in a complaint to claim back all credit card charges over £12, but what about the £12 charges for going overlimit and the ones for late payment???? If a court has ruled that £12 is ok, is it worth complaining??
I am with Capital One. Thanks very much people xxx0 -

MBNA playing hardball
Has anyone had any success claiming back late payment and interesst charges on their MBNA credit card? I sent my claim for £336 a month ago and MBNA sent me one letter saying they disagree with the Ombudsman findings, they consider their charges to be fair and transparent and rejected my claim on that basis. They will not enter into any further discussion unless instructed to do so by the Financial Ombudsman Service. Bit hard core me thinks but has any one any suggestions on how to crack this one?0
