Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Hi All,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have had a number of late payment and overspend charges made on my Lloyds TSB credit card for £12 a go, and seeing as these are within what the OFT say are 'fair' charges, how likely am I to be successful in reclaiming these?
The charges are in fact a result of a mistake by my bank/credit card issuer; my credit limit was cut by two thirds without my being informed, and this resulted in me overspending unawares. The late payment charges were a result of a seperate problem concerning my internet banking account. Would these issues perhaps lend more weight to my reclaim request?
natweststaffmember is correct. Only a court can decide a fair charge. A few weeks ago, I had a debate with Nationwide regarding a £12 charge, which they initially refused to repay. I just followed the Moneysavingexpert next step letters by threatening to take them to court and hey presto, they paid up. I would have taken them to court if they hadn't as I know their true costs (as with all of the other banks and builiding socities) are less than £3-00. Keep on fighting and you will win eventually.0 -

Go for the 'threaten court action' letter at http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/attachment/cc_letter2.rtf.
Use exactly the words as quoted in letter.0 -
Hi everybody, I am trying to reclaim charges back from Aqua Credit Card but I can't find any address to send the Data Protection Letter, does anybody know the correct address?
Many thanks
Aqua Credit Card is supplied by the Halifax. As advised in previous posting on this forum, I suggest sending an email to the the Halifax CEO Eric Daniels at eric.daniels@lloydstsb.co.uk with your letter attached. If you wish to post your letter rather than send via email, please do a google search for Halifax's HO address. My recommendation is email.

but arent they going to get annoyed and call in your debt right away? I have £2500 on a credit card and have had charges - so can they just say here is your £150 refund not give us £2500???Karen Lewis (no relation)

What's the situation with the bank charges right now? Is there a development at all with regards to the court case or have they managed to stall it indefinitely?
And why am I not surprised...0 -

The banks have won so surely claiming on credit cards charge is now over too?
I have a fair bit to claim, had success two years ago but feel now it will be rejected and a waste of time - any other views on recent successes and people still claiming and making progress?0 -
I was told this morning from Halifax that I couldn't claim for charges. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks.0

I don't post letters to banks or building societies. Instead I send them as attachements in emails to the CEOs. The attached URL gives you the email addresses of the bank CEOs :

For Barclaycard, you will need to send an email to john.varley@barclays.com and ask him to ecalate your attached letter accordingly.
It will save postage costs.
It has worked brilliantly for me as I have got credit card charges refunds from Nationwide and Halifax plus I have escalated other things via email rather than post. If you still want to post your letters, just ask for a freepost address in your first letter attached to email. I did this with Barclays and was supplied a freepost address without any problems.
I hope this helps.
Hi Broadstone, thanks for your informationCan I ask should it read escalate your claim or ecalate ? just before I send an email and put the wrong term in
Thanks in advance:rotfl::rotfl:0
