  • hey can people tell me how long the process has taken them from start to finish to actually get the money compensated to them?

    Many thanks in advance
  • anyone know the answer to this?

I think it depends on the bank. My Barclaycard took less then a month because they didn't delay it by taking the mick and my A&L took over 3 months. Egg paid the PPI very quickly but MBNA took the p!ss again. The trick is to keep at it and send out those replies to their (delaying tactics) responses, insisting that you want your charges back.
  • Given the recent court decisions regarding bank charges, are claims for credit card charges still eligable as i know the standard bank charges for OD limits are not?

If you already have all of your statements are you able to start at a different stage of the process or should you still start of the very beginning?

Hi Nikita, the bank charges ruling has no bearing on the credit card charges. If you already have the credit card statements, reclaim away. Don't forget to add the interest by using the calculator. ;)

i done that sent it away last thursday and recieved reply today that they are only willing to pay £57.32 instead of the £257.65 am claiming and adviced that i can take my issue to FOS

should i go to FOS or court?
Same thing. Taken it to the FOS. I will see what happens and if not satistfied, will look at the court route.

Taking it to the FOS first might work out and will save you the fee mcmac. ;)

I sent a SAR to Sainsbury's bank over 40 days ago. They sent me a letter 2 weeks ago saying that they had received it.
When a company has 40 days to reply, is it the information they have to give within 40 days or just a standard letter saying they have received my SAR?
    Thanks
They have to send you the information.

By how many days are they over? If it's under a week, they may still send it soon.
  • cheers, i might well do that then, ill go take a look at the main pages here as im guessing thats where i can find what i need :)

court route then they have 14 days to reponsed a defence and then turn up at court in many cases they don't or lose and i win by default and get my fee back

  • I haven't recieved any charges because I always pay on time, but I still have a wacking great balance. Someone at Cartel client Review has told me that I can get the wholde balance wiped off (even though I do not have ppi). Is this true?? On what grounds. My credit card was opened before April 2007, which I am told is significant...
