• Thanks for the quick response mate!

Of course i'd prefer it to come off the balance than have it to spend. I just wish there was a way of them freezing the interest on the account as they've closed it, so that any payments i make actually go towards reducing the balance, rather than just paying the interest each month. Is there a way of doing this?

Has anyone got a definate address to send a letter before action letter to Halifax/HBOS credit cards.
I used Trinity Road on prelim letter but they never got back to me, but have read conflicting addresses such as:

Po Box 548, leeds.

The Dunferline address.

Which is best to send?
• Its great news that you can still claim on credit cards. I must get round to sending stuff off this week before it gets too late!

Hi can anyone give me some advice. I sent of my letter with cheque to barclaycard with my £10 on August 27th. The cheque was cashed on Septemebr 9th and according to Barclaycards records they sent the statments but I have not recieved them. I left it 40 days before the start of my telephone calls to them where I have been promised they have been resent twice but to date have still recieved nothing from them. I called again on 5th November and spoke to a rather condescending man who implied nothing had been resent and the only way to get them would be to rewite to the original address. I sent a letter to this address explaining everything and 15 days later nothing again. During the course of my telephone calls I have been told the figure of my charges not including interest. My question is do I write and ask for this figure and if so do I add interest and what amount? or do I wait another 40 days from the date of this last letter or do I contact the independent commissioner? If I went down the last route how long approximately does it take for them to chase the card company to send statements? I feel I am getting no where with Barclaycard, yet my husbands went off the same time as me and his was finished in no time successfully.
All thoughts appreciated.

Its a shame isnt it that in this day and age the only way to effectively communicate and get positive action is by snail mail. Personally I would stop all further phone calls as they dont get you anywhere !!!! Swallow the absolute balls up that has happened thus far and start again stage 1 letter to the original address however with the £10 fee state that they have had this already in previous communication and that they have cashed it also, enclose statement proof of this .

Good luck.
If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!! :D
• The postman delivered some great news this morning. The Halifax have agreed to repay my credit card charges in full with interest. The initial offer was for £178, which i rejected. A threat of court action resulted in a full refund plus interest £836, hooray! Thanks to this website and the inspiration i gained from others succeses i am over the moon, just in time for christmas! :j

For info, emails are better than post.

I don't post letters to banks or building societies. Instead I send them as attachements in emails to the CEOs. The attached URL gives you the email addresses of the bank CEOs :

http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html

For Barclaycard, you will need to send an email to john.varley@barclays.com and ask him to ecalate your attached letter accordingly.

It will save postage costs.

It has worked brilliantly for me as I have got credit card charges refunds from Nationwide and Halifax plus I have escalated other things via email rather than post. If you still want to post your letters, just ask for a freepost address in your first letter attached to email. I did this with Barclays and was supplied a freepost address without any problems.

I hope this helps.

As advised in a previous post on forum, send an email to the Halifax CEO Eric Daniels at eric.daniels@lloydstsb.co.uk with your letter attached to email.
