Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Kind of what I thought. and if you dont have the statements for that period I imagine no way of getting this info as banks do not have to retain that info past the 6 years, and doubt they going to assist you in your quest. Bit of a Catch 22.
Gutted. I had a clear out last year and burnt all my old paperwork (bank statements, credit cards statements, closed account etc that I had accumulated over the last 15 years.
Obviously you would have to SAR the credit card company for ALL of the information they hold on you. If they have records older than six years then they must send these to you. If they say they have coveniently destroyed records older than six years then they MUST provide you with proof that these records have been destroyed.
Another approach could be to estimate what your charges might have been for the years for which you do not have the documentary evidence. Not ideal but worth a try if all else fails.

If you decide to accept the offer they will credit your account with that amount.
If there is anything left over after clearing your account they will send that to you in cheque format.
What have they offered you compared to the amount that you have claimed ??

Guys,
i was sequestrated (made bankrupt) 3 1/2 years ago and have now been discharged.
Can i still claim for these and use this money to pass onto my previous creditors, as i believe if i get any of this cash it would then go to the trustee.
Is this correct?0 -
Hi there. Im new to all this. Ive only found out about this credit card reclaiming not so long ago so I started following the guidelines and template letters. Im sorry if this has been asked before.
I sent the first letter 'I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the default charges.....' including a £10 cheque to one of my credit card companies on Monday (28th Sep). The account is with 'Vanquis'. This account has been paid off in full so I dont owe them a penny. I recieved a letter from them today (1st Oct) saying: 'I refer to your recent communication regarding the above. The details of your enquiry have been registered for investigation. We will try to resolve your enquiry as quickly as possible and keep you informed of our progress. You are still required to meet your obligations as outlined in your Card terms and conditions whilst your complaint is being investigated including to continue paying at least your minimum payment. In the meantime should you require any further information......'. I didint recieve no statements of my charges and they also sent me my cheque back! How do I go about this now, do I wait until the 40 days are up or do I proceed with letter number 2 as the letter I reiceved is not the request I asked for? Thanks very much for your help.0 -

Hi,
I successfully won £156 from Barclaycard last week after following the template letters here.
I have today recieved a letter saying that they have reduced my credit limit by £150. The letter states "We have taken these steps because of information about your credit history supplied by Credit Reference Agencies"
However, I'm not so sure they can just dip into a new search with the credit reference agencies whenever they feel like it?? Is this correct?
Phoned the Ombudsman helpline - but the person who I spoke to really didn;t know whether they could or not.
I doubt it's co-incidence as I've had this limit for many years now (was formerly a Morgan Stanley card which was transferred to Barclaycard when they bought them).
Any advice? Should I submit a complaint? I don't use the card at all, but it does have a balance on it.0 -

Hi, new to posting on forum so hope I've done it right!
I've successfully reclaimed from RBS & Barclaycard but Lloyds TSB are taking ages to send copy statements but the worst one is Capital One!
Capital One have been rude over the phone and have refused to pay, when I sent court letter they still refuse saying their fees are fair and it would be wasting courts precious time if I pursue but say I can report to Ombudsman, I am still in the right to continue claiming through Ombudsman?
The wording of their letter is very clever, can anybody help me please?0
