    thanks,
the charges refund it's not a large ammount so it's not a great concern, but my point is their action to pay the charges refund in the acc its not right. shouldnt they uphold / resolve the dispute first?
  • Hi i am about to try and reclaim charges on my credit cards but some have changed ownership over the years so not sure if i send letters to current creditor or previous or both???

    Was marbles now h/bos

you can claim the last 6 years.

do you not have a recent statement for the associates? Citi Financial address is :-
    Citi Cards
    CitiFinancial Customer Services
    PO Box 49920
    London
    SE5 7ZF

Highly advisable you send the £10 and get the statements from them. That way you categorically know ALL the charges instead of them telling you..

    Good luck.
I think i may have left it too late to claim as the cards end date if 2003, all the cards accounts have been sent to other companies to get the money back:confused:, can i just ask how far back can i claim for ppi from citifinancial,

my understanding is that you can claim for the last 10 years if you have proof, ie statements of account as the bank will only send you info for the last 6 years.
have a look at Martin's PPI claims guide

You ca do but did you not receive a new card from citi?? legally they are now responsible, the assosiates have no legal responsibility to you as they sold the acc.
  • Many people believe that it is only possible to claim back credit card charges for the last six years. This is incorrect.
The Limitation Act 1980 is quite clear ( see section 32 ) that in cases of fraud, deliberate concealment or the consequences of a mistake the period of limitation does not begin to run until the Claimant has discovered the fraud, concealment or mistake or could with reasonable diligence have discovered it. Claimant's could not have been in the slightest bit aware that charges applied to their credit card accounts were either unlawful or unfair prior to the OFT publishing their report into credit card charges on April 5th 2006. Basically, until that time any Claimant could not reasonably have been expected to have discovered the credit card companies deliberate concealment etc.
Claimants would therefore be fully justified in arguing that the period of limitation did not commence on this matter until April 2006, so you may argue that you have until April 2012 to make a claim in respect of ALL the unlawful / unfair charges applied to your account since that account was opened with the credit card company.
