Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Does anyone know if the reclaiming applies to interest?
The reason I ask is because I always pay my C/C off in full but a few months ago there was an unusually large amount on my card and I realised slightly too late that I did not pay off the full amount. I therefore electronically transferred the balance but as it arrive 1 DAY too late I was charged about £80 interest!!
Surely this is just as unlawful as bank charges in cases such as this when payments are 1 day late.
Appreciate any advice or if anyone else has an experience of similar scenarios.

An update on my Adams card charges. Got a letter today offering me £170 good will payment. My original claim is for £526. What they say is this is the diference between the £22 £20 and £15 charges and the £12 the Ombudsman says if fair. I think i'll ask for the rest as they have been totaly unfair in their charges. I got £20 in April when i paid few days before the due date. When i had my first charges they were diferent every month once it would be £22 next would be £20 and the most confusing thing was that the minimum payments would not reflect the money owed. For example if my limit is say £250 they would ask for minimum payment £5 even though i have used all the credit and they know with the interest i will be over the limit again. This is just an example not true figures.0

Hello Everyone - First Post, be gentle!
I have a number of cards and have racked up all sorts of charges over the years. I am in the process of obtaining all the details for claims to be made. One thing puzzles me - why claim only 8% interest when the credit card companies have been charging 20-30% interest on the unfair charges during the intervening years?0 -

Hi,
My partner put in a claim to HBOS for CC charges and HBOS wrote back offering, in settlement, the "£12 fair charge" offer (ie, what she claimed less a figure of £12 for each charge, stating that £12 was reasonable).
She wants to go for the whole amount and will issue court proceedings but, in the meantime, 5 of the charges she claimed in her original letter now fall outside the 6 year period (2 in May 2003, 2 on June 2003 and 1 in July 2003).
Is she stopped from claiming those five charges now or does the six year period run back from when she first made the claim, in writing, to the CC company?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Due to credit card charges being unfair and everyone saying you can reclaim the money back, just wondering if it's the same with store cards??
I started the process and got a response, which I read that Martin said would be the likely response of them saying it's in the terms and conditions that you get late payment charges, default charges etc etc.
They owe me £225, but have only offered me £18, yes just £18, which they have refunded to my account.
They have included a leaflet to the ombudsman, should I just go ahead and complain to the ombudsman.
But more importantly is it the same process as credit cards.
Sorry for long post, thanks.

What do you mean by claiming contractual interest up to filing in court? So you are saying I could claim back the interest that has been charged on the charges, plus statutory interest of 8%?Total Reclaimed from banks and credit cards so far: £14139 :T
Amount outstanding £550 :beer:0
