Hi can anyone advice, i got in to dept on a number of cards, howerver one was very nasty, even after writing to them if they would suspend the card interest and only pay min payment for awhile, they ignored, charged me interest, plus 35.00 every month to tell me i was behind this went on for about 14 months until they sold the debt to an agency, and i now paythem 10.00 monthly, and i owe about 4000.00. however this was just over six years ago, i now presume that i have missed the boat.
This also in not so nasty away happended with 4 other card and 1 loan supplier... all again now over six years ago.
I have paid off 3 depts, and now owe about 9000.00 to three people and i am paying these agents 31.00 between them, i can now afford more, but think sod them.. it will possible 10 years that i will pay them, but there is no interest.
sorry this was long, hope some oen can give some advice.0 -
I made a claim from the ulster bank in N.I. they repaid me the difference between the higher amount and £12. They refused to pay any more so i started court action. They have until the end of today to respond to the courts and as of now they still havent done so. Can anyone tell me what the next step is - does the court make them pay as they havent responded - i know bank claims are on hold but this is a credit card.
Any help would be appreciated

I've just won against Cap1 for credit card charges through the FOS, does anyone know how long it takes them to pay up?0

Hello to all you moneysavers I'm after some advice please.
1) I had a credit card with capital one for about 5 years not much on it but I got charges a couple of times, but I paid off the card and closedthe accountback in July this year can I still claim for this?
2) When I first took out the card I had payment protection but when I was made redundant in 2006 they said I coulodn't claim on it, so I cancelled it because it was a couple of pounds per month, but when I spoke to cap one about 2 months later to explain my situation they said if I wasn't working I should have used the payment protection as that is what it was there for. When I explained I had cancelled it because I was told it wasn't covered they basically said redundancy was covered, I shouldn't have cancelled it and tough luck! Can I claim any of the payment protection back?
Thanx for reading (Iknow I go on a bit) xx:D0 -

I had the same problem with Halifax. Call their cusromer relations department, get their fax number and ask them to call you to confirm receipt! Worked for me, full refund within two weeks!0 -
Hi
My OH has recently reclaimed CC charges from First Trust Bank (NI Bank) totalling £367. They refused his claim but offered a whole £15 as a goodwill gesture. As most of the charges he identified are not over the £12 maximum - is there any point in persuing this further?
