    Provider: MINT
    Amount Reclaimed: £338
    Amount they paid: £311 (24 x £12 plus 8% interest)
    The story:
1 letter for a list of my charges. Recieved a letter with the list a few days later. Sent them Martins template letter requesting the amount I thought I was due and low and behold, 2 days later I recieved the offer 4 days later :j. Not the exact amount but a damn sight better than a kick in the Misters.

I've been reading through this site for a few months saying that I'll reclaim my money but wanted to view success rates before going for it. Very good to see so many people having success in getting THEIR money back :j.

Thank you Martin. Wouldn't have known that I could get it back if not for you and this site!!

Just waiting for HSBC to come back now, here's hoping

Capital one: claimed £856 - cheque for full amount
    MBNA:claimed £536 - cheque for full amount

Both cases dealt with in alloted time, 3 template letters sent to both. Usual rubbish from them, such as don't agree with you, our charges are correct, however in this case.......

    Sainsburys are next!

Sainsburys have coughed up £820!!!.....obviously charges were fair etc.....
  • Hi All,

I'm new to this site but wanted to let you know of my successes so far....

GM Card - One letter sent asking for full refund of charges and got a letter back for £808!!
Lloyds TSB Visa- One letter sent asking for full refund of charges, they declined, second letter sent from the templates and full refund + interest of 572 offered!!
    RESULT!
Egg - however they are a very different story....still awaiting a response and Barclaycard/MBNA are going to get back to me... Thanks Martin!!
  • Whoo hoo, wrote to all of them years ago and had my cases put on hold due to the test case. I'd never disputed the cost of charges but the fact I was being charged on top of charges after I'd been seriously ill in hospital for two months and have been registered disabled ever since and my finances have spiralled out of control since then.

Sent the new template letter to everyone on 25th March 2010 and so far have had one reply - from First Direct offering me £104.17 "which represents a 100% reduction of the charges payable". I asked for £82 plus interest so yes I am going to accept.

I just hope now that they are as understanding with me regarding my two bank accounts as the charges accrued on them is over £1500 for the same period and the same reasons. Abbey National & Barclays have yet to reply but I will keep everyone updated as and when I have more news.

No, maybe I did something wrong then but I actually sent just the one template letter to First Direct which had a breakdown of all the charges that had been accrued on my two accounts and my credit card. I used the bank charges calculator.

But it's worked so far so good.

Does the figure include all bank charges and credit card charges you have incurred plus interest?

I used the one letter e.g.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re FD Accounts 12345678
    23456789
    FD Visa 1234 5678 9101 1121

Stated my case, had previously contacted them blah blah blah

I enclose a list a each of the charges on each account

    FD 12345678 £20 dated 1.1.10 interest 23p
    £12 dated 2.2.09 interest 1.10

    FD 23456789 £50 dated 3.3.08 interest 7.53

    FD Visa £22 dated 4.4.07 interest 4.33

Please reimburse me - etc etc

    Yours faithfully

OBVIOUSLY THE LETTER WAS THE TEMPLATE THAT I'D PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED BUT I WANTED TO SHOW YOU WHAT I'D MEANT ABOUT INCLUDING THEM ALL IN THE SAME LETTER WITH ALL THE CHARGES LISTED.

I'D COPIED THE BANK CHARGES CALCULATOR TABLE INTO THE LETTER - ALL THREE TABLES - THEY ACTUALLY TOOK NEARLY TWO PAGES I'VE HAD THAT MANY CHARGES ON THE ACCOUNTS.

Despite the letter being mainly about bank charges but did include credit card charges I have only so far heard back about the credit card charges. I asked for £82 in charges plus interest and they offered me £104.17 - not quite as much as I'd worked the interest as but wasn't too far off and was still accepting more than just the £82 incurred on the account. Accepted offer by post yesterday, money in account today.

    Morning All,

I recieved a letter the other night from Vanquis Bank offering me £204.00 as a full and final settlement of my complaint against their credit card charges.

I only sent one letter about 4 weeks ago asking for my statements and a £10.00 cheque. They sent me the cheque back and told me they would investigate ... and they did! I have just signed the acceptance form and will be posting it this morning.

This cuts my outstanding balance in half which means I can now settle the outstanding balance and cut the damn card up! HAPPY DAYS :):)
