To anyone who had made a reclaim on Barclaycard:

did you provide a card number or account number? If latter, where can I get such a information? My cardit card statement only contains my credit card number.

    Many thanks in advance!!

The credit card number is the account number for the account.

Sue them or take them to the Ombudsman.

    hi DPW86,
its not the same as what i had, i only sent the first template letter and immediately received an offer of full repayment.
i would send another letter after 14 days of first letter clearly stating that you want your money back!
so far i havent had a problem with claiming from credit cards, however the £195 from abbey was indeed a goodwill gesture to ease my financial problems, the rest of my claim has been put on hold.
i will be writing again asking for the money as if they are offering me money to ease my finances then they should pay out under the financial hardship rules!

Hi there. Just to let you know, I recieved a letter today from Vanquis offering me all of my charges back. Verry happy!! 1 card down, 4 to go lol! Thanks for your help and everyone elses on here. Thanks!

  • Provider: Halifax
    Amount Reclaimed:£752.63
    Amount they paid:£780.83
The story:Sent first letter on 7th September, they replied offering £208.00(the difference between the charges and £12.00 chgs) I phoned on the 5th October to decline their offer and also put it in writing on the 7th October. Got home from the post office and there was a letter offering the £780.83 which is more than I had requested, this cleared the balance on my card and left me with a cheque for over £300.00.

I am so happy and would like to thank everybody on the site for their advice and encouragement.

For all newbies, my advice would be don't accept their first offer as I have got money back on two accounts with the second.

Please help me to reclaim my bank charges. Over a month ago I wrote to my bank Halifax trying to reclaim my charges. This weekend they reply by saying all claims are on hold at the moment until the ruling of OFT.My charges are almost £5000.today I phone them to ask ,I will like to change it to the hardship. They said they will send me a form to fill about my incoming and out goings. I am over my £2300 overdraft with them at the moment.Over the last few months most of my direct debit and chques were unpaid because of no enough fund in my bank account. I am about £2000 in arears with my morgage payment.I know I wil soon recived a letter from my morgage lender taking me to court.they being trying to call me but I did not pick the phone. I am not sure if I will qualify for the hardship.I bought my flat four years ago, a year after I moved in with my boyfriend. I change my halifax address to my current address.I still own my flat,i cant sell it at the moment because the eqiuaty of the property is negative.the rent does not cover my mortage.the address of my flat is diffrent to the one I am using now with halifax.I being banking with halifax ovey 16 years.so they have myflat as my old address. will I be able to qualify for hardship?
