It all started 18/03/09 with the request for statements (no charge made) they were a bit slow to respond to my request for the refund and 14/04/09 made a GOGW of £273. Banked that and siad thanks very much can I have the rest as well please. Got no response and sent them a letter on 22/05/09 asking for a final response letter so I could go and chat to the FOS.
I was just sat doing my FOS complaint when the post man delivered a letter form mbna saying charges are "valid fair and enforceable" imagine my surprise then when I also found a cheque for the remainder of my claim.

Thats now £2447.71 from four cards and still three others to play with.

I was offered the charges without interest and took this as the debt is now with Impact Collections and would help reduce my balance with them. These charges were all of the £12 type (6 of them to be exact)

The story:

Applied for statements back in 2007, but was put off by the bank charges freeze. However thanks to the advice on this site I realised that the hold didn't apply to credit card charges, and the success of others inspired me to get on and put in my claim.

Wrote a letter to Barclaycard requesting the full charges with interest: 6 June 09
Received letter offering full refund: 17 June 09

The story: Sent initial letter off they responded with normal reply charges fair etc. We exchanged 4 further letters before I then threaten court. Receive next letter offering the full £189.56 in full and final settlement and amount will be deducted off o/s balance. Thank you
In total 5 letters, 1.5hr of effort, 5 stamps = well worth it.

Not sure if you sorted this already, but you may have wanted to post this on the discussion thread. Anyway, easy resolve would be bank the cheque and send letter back to Cap 1 thanking them for their partial payment which you gratefully accept WITHOUT PREJUDICE (important you put that line in though) but you are still seeking the full amount you are claiming and if you do not receive within the next 14 days Court (MCOL) will follow.

The story:

Already had a successful PPI claim from this old card of mine, for £3,400ish, when that was done decided to go after unfair charges too. Sent Martin's first letter, with a few edits, got an offer of about £80. Then I completely forgot to write back, and got a letter after couple of weeks saying as they'd not heard from me presumed I wasn't happy with the offer, so referring to a Manager. Within a week I got an offer of the full refund, which they're paying today direct into my current account - so don't even need to wait for a cheque!

Can't believe I've only sent the 1st letter, forgot about it, and still ended up with full refund!

Sending claim letter for £400ish to MBNA today for late charges, and one to Oasis for about £340 for which they offered £100 for previously, so requesting full amount + interest again in this one.

Accepted & my existing balance (£318.32) was cleared on the 12th of May & a cheque arrived for the remainder (£1380.34) on 19th of May.[/FONT]

(Edit: Just thought I would add that although I'm in Scotland I claimed for 6 years of charges, not 5, & got them all)

The story: Applied for credit card charges to be refunded, no interest just the £12 charges i had recieved. Got a letter several days later to confirm they would put it back on my account! So pleased, thankyou for your informative website I would never have even thought about re-claiming my credit card charges. The card is now in the bin!

the story= 10/06/2009 i thought i would try for refund of any charges, sent template number 1. got reply today, sating full and finale settlement. so i'm taking it. the funny thing is .....i didn't even think i had any charges on this account as limit was low!!!!!!!:j
