My payment due date for April's cc bill was 5th May 2009, am normally very careful about paying in full and on time but with a very intensive week at work (emergency planning in response to pandemic swine flu) forgot about the bill until this morning! The e-transfer indicated the money should arrove today, but came with a standard warning that the recipient may take 4 working days to process the transaction. The BH doesn't help!
After I spoke to them, Barlaycard has offered to waive any interest that may accrue as a result. Stars!!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Barclaycard
Claimed: 920 (720 full charges and 200 interest)
Paid: 920
Requested statements, did the maths and then sent the template letter asking for full amount plus interest. Six days later got a letter saying they believed charges were fair etc but were giving back the full amount. Rang customer services and got refund paid into my regular account. About 6 weeks in total. So easy! In the meantime Egg haven't even sent me my statements yet.0 -

Thank you thank you thank you. I sent the letter using the format offered on this site to Barclaycard requesting £292 for late payments and over limit charges of £20 and £12 and I received my ask plus the interest of about 30 quid! I'm so happy!! I had little expectation it would work but they paid up, no question. Fantastic! I would have known nothing about this was it not for this site!0

Reclaim Amount:- £1056.00
Amount Repaid :- £853.32
Used the template letters to start reclaim, received an offer of £260, refused this offer and asked Capital One to look into the charges again, got the same letter back with the offer of £260. Filed a claim through FOS, in February. Today received a letter from FOS stating Capital One were offering £702 plus £151.32. We are accepting this as some of the original charges were over the 6 year time limit. Very pleased with the result, once again thanks for all the help that you good people offer.

Provider: Natwest
Amount Reclaimed: £296
Amount they paid: £306
The story:
I've put off reclaiming for so long, because reclaiming bank charges has been such a stress, and being in debt up till recently has made me feel helpless- but I've now started sorting everything and it seems I'm clearing a different balance every month now. So I wrote off to all my card providers, and less than two weeks later Natwest have offered me a refund. And given this is one of my smallest debts it's pretty much paid it off- just £40 to pay come payday and the debt is cleared. Just MBNA, Capital One and two Egg Cards to go (and given one of my Egg cards is paid off, my Capital One Card has a very low balance, and my MBNA card will be paid off by next month this reclaiming lark will have me debt free so much quicker than I thought. I don't know if it's going to be this easy for the rest (I mean Natwest have settled before I've even received a list of charges from Egg), but to anyone who hasn't got round to doing this get your claims in now- no stress at all.:j
If you think I've been helpful then slap me with a thanks. If you think I've been unhelpful I don't need your negativity right now.
