17/09/08 - Sent 1st template letter requesting £364 plus 8% interest
19/09/08 - Refunded account with £112 plus 8% interest (difference between £20 charges and £12)
26/09/08 - Sent letter requesting remainder
02/10/08 - Refunded £252 plus 8% interest

Only received 8% interest calculated from the charges today not the 8% interest from the date of charge as per calculater but still received something that i wouldn't have received without the help of this website

I have just had success with CAPITAL ONE.....Finally they have agreed to settle my claim in full of £490 plus £55.20 interest....I went through the financial ombudsman and they settled within a month.....

I got a letter on Saturday morning expected the worse but success!! Within a week of being offered £17.34 on my visa & mastercard and me returning the 2nd letter threatening court action, I get a letter to say that £297.60 has been credited into my Barclaycard Account. Have alrady closed these accounts so have requested direct payment to Bank Account. Should be there on Thursday! Oh happy days!!!:beer:

Wish I had done it ages ago. My husband has just sent of his initial letter asking for bank statements so can't wait to do his letters too!!!

There was a judgment handed down yesterday in the test case, which confirmed that the charges may be assessed for fairness under the OFT rules.

Which puts us a step further towards some form of result on the outstanding "frozen" claims. :j

Rang them twice - couldn't get any sense out of them at all.
Emailed them - standard reply back saying would get back to me within 5 days.

Rang customer relations - brilliant woman there called Carol who really does know the meaning of customer relations. Called me back with 15 mins. Full refund + interest.

I first wrote o n 8.8.8 and they paid £146.88 to my account within 14 days. I wrote again last week requesting the rest and got a letter today saying the balance will be paid to my accoun within 10 days. I ma in default with them and owe about £1600 so I now owe £1000. Result. I also got part payment from LLOYDS 2 weeks ago by cheque Just awaiting a response to letter regarding rest of charges with them. I owe a lot ot credit card companies and all monies I get will at least reduce the balances. Now for Citi card and Capital one!!

Credit to Halifax, the whole thing was very quick and easy. Didn’t ask for the £10 for statements and they arrived within a week.
After the 2nd letter I was offered the full amount, and cheque was in the post that week. No hassle at all :T

The total opposite from Halifax. Excepted their offer after sending the 2nd letter, but that was only the start of the fun and games! Numerous letters, phone calls, high blood pressure and 4 months later the money was transferred to my account. Thank you Barclaycard! I hope I never have to deal with you again in this life!:mad:

Right Capital 1 next! Still waiting for the statements after 4 months!!! Although they have now cashed the £10 cheque in the last week. :undecided
