    Amount they paid: £320

The story: Sent a data request in March 12, they arrived in late April 12. 2 days after I requested all the fees (£12) and interest from the template provided by MSE.

Letter arrived 2 weeks ago from BC saying that they felt the charges were correct and fair, but they agreed to repay what I requested.

It's such a shame that I didn't have the fees pre-2006 because I could of taken them to the cleaners.

I have learned my lesson with credit cards, I have a couple of more irons in the fire with 2 other credit card companies.

I followed the MSE guide and your advice paid off, many thanks.

    Hello,

Im new to this site, reading all stories about successful claims to all the credit card charges makes me inspired to do it as well.

I just want to ask it is possible to claim the interest charges as well. I've been with Payplan for almost 7 years now and this is my last month to pay off all my debt. And one of my creditor was Barclaycard, the amount of interest that i receiving every month is quite high for example Payplan paid £73.45 but the interest was £20.20. But the first year with payplan i didn't receive any interest from barclaycard. It is nice if I will claim this interest charges as well . It will gonna make a big difference for me in this time of difficulty.

    Please give me some advise....

Check out advice on this site. If you scroll further down there is an on-line calculator for you to calculate your interest. It is not unreasonable to request interest.
  • Hi everyone just wanted to post a success story to motivate people to still claim those charges

    Bank: Lloyds TSB
    Amount Claimed: £2897
    Amount Paid: £490

Followed all the steps on this website and although I didnt get the full amount back I got a bit back which is better than nothing, got me out the red and now fully out of debt!!

Went down the hardship route, explained how spiralling bank charges and led me into the pay day loan trap.

Hi I have had no luck reclaiming fees/charges from capital 1 , its annoying as all the other credit cards have refunded pretty much straight away.
  • Seems the success posts have really slowed down judging by the lack of activity.

Are the banks now playing hardball?
  • MBNA - claimed for last 12 years Total ?
    Just offered - £8421.57

I nearly didn't do this because of new business commitments taking my time but one night i buckle down and followed Martins advise and in about 4 weeks this is the result.
    Big Thanks

    Provider - Mint
    Amount Claimed - £384
    Amount Paid - £604.03

Came home to some very nice news. Mint have processed my CC fees claim in a matter of 2 weeks, and made a full settlement of a whopping £604.03!

I'm stunned! Now I can have a nice little holiday and not worry too much about finances :)
  • HI all, can you claim charges back on your credit card like you can claim bank charges.I rang my card company up and was told i cant claim any charges on late payment or any other charges as £12 is the standard charge, dont know if there fobbing me off
  • I'm extremely grateful to MSE for giving me advice and inspiration to chase all our unfair charges and PPI that we have paid.
For anyone thinking of trying I'd say go ahead, you've nothing to lose.
    Here are some of the successes we've had;
    TESCO credit card = £3005
    RBS credit card = £207
    JJB credit card = £300
CAPITAL ONE credit card = £100
    EGG credit card = £5560
    EGG PPI = £3918
And we have others still awaiting decisions.
You might be thinking how reckless we've been having so many cards and loans but being self employed we have had to make use of these to keep us afloat when the banks have left us struggling.
Good luck to anyone having a go, get those letters done today!!
