  • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, does anyone have an email address for MBNA???

I rang again this morning but they will not discuss account with me because it was my husbands, even though my husband gave them permission to speak to me last time we rang on 19 March - my husband is away a lot and I am just trying to get a response. We've written twice (letters sent recorded delivery) and phoned and still haven't even got an acknowledgement. I asked for an email address on the phone this morning and they wouldn't give me one - they said he could register the card online and send a message that way. I've just tried that and it wouldn't work as the card is old (expired 2009)!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Thanks to this forum, another £538 is winging its way to me courtesy of Barclaycard! One letter and a reply in four weeks offering me all charges, including the £12 ones, plus 8% interest.

That's me, the missus and my boy off to Greece on Weds.

So far, Natwest (£730)and BC paid up without a fight, but waiting on MBNA and Sainsbury's.

    barclay card
    paid £585
i wrote one letter (from template) asking for all charges for late and overlimit charges i didnt even write the first letter that asks for a list of charges first. within 4 weeks they wrote back listing all the charges and that £585 was going to be credited to my account. I checked that day and it was! its taken me back under my limit and has taken alot of stress off me. I really didnt think it would be so easy or that i would get a penny back. It took me many months of reading other peoples comments before i decided to just go for it. I am now also tackling store cards. So glad i did thankyou to this site and the members

    Paid £102.60

    Hi Everybody

After reading the post on this thread I wrote to MBNA about my charges all of which were £12 ones. They told me to basically go away. So I wrote back saying I would be contacting the FOS. They did not reply.

So two weeks ago I filled in the form and sent it off to the FOS. Today received a letter from MBNA saying as a gesture of goodwill they will paid the full amount of £102.60 all £12 charges and interest as I requested.

Thank you all as I would never of done this without reading all the stories on this thread.

I am now waiting for a letter back from Capital One.

    Take care

Both my husband and i received letters this morning telling us we will receive refunds for our credit card charges from MBNA, had to write two letters to get that from them but its worth it for what we are getting back, and the hassle we have had off them over the years!!!! So my advice is if you re thinking about doing it, just do it, a couple of registered delivery letters costs approx £3 surely everyone can afford to spend that for a chance of reclaiming some much needed money from these big banks. Good luck everyone!!!:D

Can anyone help, I have tried to reclaim charges from barclaycard was egg, they will only pay the difference between the £20 and £16 which amounts to very little as they say they are fair according to the FOS but will refund the full amount of £12 each for the ones which they have applied since taking over the old egg account. Is this right or should I send a further letter threatening court action?

Has anyone had success from reclaiming charges (over limit/late payment fees) from capital 1, aqua (halifax) or priority club visa (barclaycard)? I have sent letters to all 3 using this site asking for all fees to be refunded and all have said no so Ive sent a letter threatening court action but I dont suppose this will do much good? I have succesfully reclaimed all charges from barclaycard and vanquis - it seems odd that some companies are prepared to roll over and refund straight away and others are not so easy I would be keen to know if any1 has had any succsess with cap 1, aqua or priority club visa?

I have sent letters to Cap One with regards to £20 and £12 charges and they said no so I filled in the FOS form in last week and sent that so will see what happens. This also happened to me with MBNA and they sent me the charges back after I contacted the FOS.

Will let you know what happens with Capital One.
