Went through my credit file since late payments are reported there - used the standard letter to RBS and they refunded £258 with no trouble at all. 2 other letters to other lenders currently being looked at.
This was on top of them refunding £2500 PPI on a credit card when 3 years ago they had offered me £70!0 -
yes I used the template from MSE - Mint sent me table like a spreadsheet showing £0 on Fees - from 2007 to 2011.
The really should have sent me copy statements?
Shoud I call them requesting statements?
thanks
All my banks sent copy states too as well as everything else they had on file.
Trouble is, if you ask for states specifically they could charge you lots. Write again asking for all your information under Data protection act. and say it's because you don't feel you have been sent everything they have on their files about you.0 -
I have recently claimed for PPI on various loans and cc.
I completed the forms on here for PPI claim and sent off to Barclaycard, I have heard nothing back from them but just checked online and have seen that I have recieved a refund on my account for £440 labeled as "Refund Late Charge".
I have not claimed for the late charges although i have been charged the £12 fee many many times...bad me.
Has this happened to anyone else or do you think this refund is for PPI Claim?
Many Thanks0 -
Just gone through some old morgage documents and found out we had paid ppi for 5 years do you think we can claim this amount back0

I wrote to the cooperative bank about my credit card charges on the 19th March, I used the template letter from this site, and also the interest calculator. I put in a claim for all the late charges and overlimit charges which were all £12.00 and added the 8% interest.
The amount i was asking for was about £650, which coincidentally was roughly what my balance was.
Today received a three page letter, outlining that these charges were fair, and reasonable, and they told me on how many occassions I had paid late or not at all. Then on the last page, they told me that as a one off and a goodwill gesture that they would refund all those charges back to 2006, (they added that it was not because they felt they were unfair charges, lol) They would refund £652.00 plus £202.10 in interest, and that this would be used to reduce the balance on the card.
This will actually clear the balance completely, so surely they will have to send me a cheque foe the £202, as I don't even have a valid card for this account anymore.
Will ring them tomorrow, but am very pleased with the outcome, plus it will save me £15.00 per month in a direct debit.0 -
well done all the people that have had a good outcome, I have just had my 1st letter of refusal from santander (letter now gone to fos) and am waiting to hear from barclaycard (its now been 2 weeks) While i am not feeling hopeful as i never seem to be lucky other people seem to be getting refunds of charges so easily i dont understand why the same companys are refunding some after the first letter and others are just getting refusal letters?0

Spoke to them this morning, and they had already refunded all the payments onto my card, so I was showing a credit of £220.86, with no way to spend it without a valid card, they have just refunded it back to my bank account. Also asked them to close the account. Less temptation!
RESULT. :j0 -

I am having the same problem. I thought it was just me:rotfl:
Barclaycard seem to be dragging their heels at the moment, perhaps they have a huge backlog of complaints!
Feel positive, maybe that will work;)0 -
I wrote to MBNA on 22 Feb (by recorded delivery) to reclaim credit card charges. Still not a word from MBNA, I, too, am surprised to read that others are having their complaints dealt with quickly whilst some of us are being ignored. There doesn't seem to be any consistency. I did ring MBNA on 19 March and they said they'd received my letter and replied (to wrong address) but would now reply to correct address - good job I haven't been holding my breath waiting on them. I will ring them again next week if I've still heard nothing (as their 8wks is up this week).0
