    Amount reclaimed £379.41

Thanks Martin, we used your template letter for the unfair bank charges received on my husbands credit card. He sent the letter on the 10th Feb 2012, via recorded delivery. Just received a letter today from Tesco who have listed out all the charges of £12 (26 in total) and Tesco have offered to repay immediately the sum above which includes interest. The card has not been used for 3 years, but with the the ppi that was misold and the charges, the balance never went down. He has already sent a letter to the ppi complaints in Glasgow, so just waiting for a response also.

I personally had luck with Halifax (and used the hardship act) and received £75 back automatically for bank charges over the past two years. Only took 15 minutes on the phone.
  • Hi All

Great to read all the success stories on here. It has got me back onto something I started over 2 yrs ago when i wrote 2 letters to MBNA to reclaim PPI and charges. Both letters were posted by recorded delivery in Oct 2009 and were delivered but I never got any response!!

So I rang MBNA today to ask for the exact address I should write to given that no-one replied to my 2 previous letters. The guy apologised and assured me that MBNA will now deal with this so I sent another letter today to reclaim charges (one step at a time) and if I have any luck with this I'll follow it up with a letter reclaiming the PPI charges.

Any advice from anyone re: MBNA would be really appreciated. Thanks

Well done on the successes. It is really inspiring me.

May I ask, are the recent successes for cc refunds all now due to hardship claims or simply asking for a refund?

Little Mo - thanks for your motivation on the other thread. I posted off to three banks yesterday to ask for a list of charges. Fingers crossed.

Hi hun, i basically used the normal template letter of this website to claim back charges, was not hardship claim just normal claim wanting my charges back and they were the 12 pound ones, they paid up in full x

    Good luck

Just wanted to thank Martin and the team for their invaluable advice on this site . Wrote off to Natwest for list of charges and then using the calculator on here sent them the template letter requesting charges plus interest totalling £844. Recieved letter back today saying sorry for the charges etc and they would like to offer me £1033 to settle my claim. I'm one very happy lady!:j:j:j:j:j

    Amount payable £28.25
    Amount claimed unsure

I recently received a letter from mbna telling me my PPI rates where changing. Considering they cancelled my card last year as I hadn't used it in over a year made me think. So I phoned them, I didn't have any paperwork & failed the security question lol. As they had wrote to me I demanded a refund as I had no knowledge of being told I was paying PPI. Received a letter today confirming compliant is being upheld & a cheque will be sent in the next 28 days.

    A small amount but it's mine :T:T:T:T
  • YAY!!! I sent a £10 cheque to have a list of all my charges from the past 6 years from Barclays. They sent them to me within 3 weeks. I then wrote another letter and asked for all charges to be refunded to me using the template letter on this site. I had a response within 2 weeks saying they were looking into it. Within a few days after that, they sent me a letter saying they were going to refund me the charges plus interest and will credit it to my account!! Just waiting for them to send me a list of charges for the egg card! And I will claim them back too.
Thanks for all the information on here...I would never have done it without seeing this site!
    P.S...All were £12 charges.

    Hello all,
A tiny bit of advise needed if possible.
I need to reclaim some money back from Capital One and from Barclaycard...I have had these cards for about 8 years or more.
I have regularly been charged for many different reasons, and think it is time I tried to reclaim these charges like others.
However, I currently can't even afford £10 to get a list of all my charges, as I have just been stung with some huge bills, and have nothing left in my account.
Can I send a letter to then still, advising that I wish to claim back all my charges since the Cards were taken out?
Can I adapt the template letter perhaps to do this and see what they come back with?
I have no money at the moment, and need to claim as much as I can,....

I tried claiming my recent bank charges back from Barclay's but they told me where to go basically, they wouldn't refund anything.....so i thought maybe the credit cards might be a better option?

Hi I have recently had success in claiming back charges from Bcd amounting to £505 which is great - these were dating back to 2006 and all were £12 fees. But I requested a refund of all charges dating back to 1999 when I first opened the card, and they have said that they cannot do this as they only hold information dating back to 2006. Is this right? From what I can gather the fees before 2006 were the really costly £35 ones so I would like to try and get these back if possible. Can some please let me know if they have had success in claiming back charges from bcard or any other credit card provider before 2006 and is there a letter template anywhere that I can use to follow this up with ( couldnt see one on here). They have already credited the £505 back to my account. ANy help greatly appreciated.

Well done in getting your charges back so far.
I got back to 2003 information from them so that can't be right so they must be holding yours somewhere. Write back for them again. It might be a ploy because they know all the biggies are further back:D
