I'd just like to say massive thank you to this site, it's been invaluable so far, I claimed £380 in charges back from my co-operative credit card and had a letter back from them today agreeing to repay me £330! The reason I started looking into this is when I had a letter from AMEX 2 months ago without my prompting them, they said they were going to return me £1,300 in charges and interest as they hadn't informed in writing I had 2 missed payments in succession after they performed an internal review. I've now sent off template letter to MINT and Barclaycard asking for charges to be returned. I honestly thought, I had no chance until I received the letter today. Thanks so much MSE!0

I got it by going into the local branch & getting the tel no of their PPI claims dept & contacted them,They were very helpful. I did not go through a reclaim company so I keep 100% of it, Take the bull by the horns. I'm not very savvy when it comes to dealing with banks so If I can do it anyone can :-) Give it ago ,if you don't try you may never know & it is defiantly worth a try. stand your ground & go for it.
I din't even thinabout PPI on my overdraft when i recently started pursuing my claim. this is something i'm going to send a letter for now as i had an overdraft of £1000 for approx 20yrs and when checking paperwork after reasing this i had PPI applied. Thank you for bringing my attention to this....0 -

Evening all
Never posted here before, but I thought I'd mention a recent success I've had claiming credit card charges back from Tesco Bank:
Amount claimed: £708 (all £12) + £154 interest
Amount recieved: £1130!!!
They have for some reason offered me more than I asked for, by applying 21% interest instead of 8%. They are crediting it to my account, which will help me a lot when paying it off.
Just awaiting replies from my other cards (Mint, Halifax, MBNA)
Anyone had success with Mint?
Thanks0 -
Hi,
I've never posted before but just wanted to say that thanks to this site and reading about others success I decided to claim back all my charges from my barclaycard. Most of my charges were £12 so initially I was just going to claim the few that were higher than £12 but after reading through the posts on this thread I decided to try and claim for all my charges plus the interest owed. I am very pleased to say that with just one letter asking for my charges (plus interest) back I received a letter from Barclaycard saying they will pay back everything I asked for which comes to £864!!!
Thanks for posting your success stories, if I had not seen this site and thread I would never have tried claiming anything back, so thank you!!0 -
Hi
congrats to all, I'm feeling inspired again, I've recently claimed back PPI payments I am now going to claim back all the over limit fees, can I ask are you just sending in a letter stating you want it all back without requesting a list of charges first and sending in a comprehensive list. With my PPI I just sent a letter requesting my money back and it worked, but now I'm nervous again.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Can I ask has anyone managed to claim charges back from Egg now that they are owned by Barclaycard. I was rejected by Egg and then never pursued it further however I did manage to obtain a refund on my Barclaycard, just fancying my chances since the takeover0

I sent to the request in ocotber using templates with £30 and £12 and got the usual reply that they were not refunding charges.
I sent the second letter and go no reply
I then filed claim on MCOL and within a week of being issued the summons they made a settlement "as a good will gesture"
got a cheque few days later for over a £1000 plus costs
Anyone who feel strongly about the way the banks profiteer should go for it
