Sent my first letter on 22nd April 2010 requesting that they pay back all my charges. Recieved 2 letters stating that they are currently looking in to the situation.
Have opened the post today & they are refunding me £552.92 its more than i worked out which is a great result.
They will be crediting the money in to my Barclaycard Account though, at least it will knock my balance down but was hoping to recieve a cheque!

PROVIDER: Halifax / Intelligent Finance
AMOUNT RECLAIMED: 288.00 + 8% interest 61.07
AMOUNT THEY PAID : 349.07
THE STORY:
Sent first letter on the 8th June, got a response this morning dated 17th June saying they will credit £349.07 to my account. Just checked and it's in there already. Quite frankly I'm amazed, I am on a DMP and this means the debt will now be paid off in just under 6 months rather than 12! Thanks for all the useful advice on here everyone!0 -
Received two letters from the FOS today to keep me up to date on my claim, won't write the letters out in full but the paragraph that interests me most is
"As you will know, your credit card provider argues that the charges it has made to your account were levied fairly and in accordance with its tariff. So it has chosen not to make you an offer that fully meets your claim.
Because of that, it is necessary for us to investigate the matter in more depth. As previously explained, we have written to your credit card provider to invite it to either:
make a revised offer which meets your claim in full; or
provide us with the information that we need to reach a conclusion on the merits of your claim."
Maybe I'm just being hopeful but that doesn't sound too bad at the moment does it ?RainbowLiberty0 -

Hi, could you tell me how long it was between your letter asking for refund and them sending you the £117 offer. I sent my first letter requesting a refund around 2 weeks ago and had the initial "we are looking at it" letter. Do they take the full 40 days? Good to hear the second letter is a swift 2 weeks

I successfully reclaimed two credit card charge claims in full-plus 8% interest fom Barclaycard and Natwest. The amount was for nearly £800 in total.
The process for both was relatively straightforward. Sent them both the SAR letter with the £10 required. When the info came back I added up the charges- plus interest and sent the next letter for reclaiming them. Recieved the expected 'go away' letters so sent back the LBA letter to show I meant business. Both payed up :T The whole process took around 3 weeks and wiped the remaining balances out on both cards.0 -
BARCLAYCARD
I asked for £192 in charges and £40.71 as the interest (used the calculator on MSE website to work it out)
letter came back from the with an offer of £192 and £96.99 as interest! so got £288.99 back from them and I just cleared the last £20 on my Barclaycard last week, so all money I can pay the other credit card off with! thank you MSE!!! x0
