:jAnd am wearing some of my own jeans from storage! Size 12 *glow*
I've had to put a pair back in the wardrobe this morning. I'm telling myself it is holiday weight, and it will go.....
Yesterday's aborted day out is rescheduled for today. Yes today, when it is raining. Oh well.
Ironing pile has been demolished. Home found for the pots of jam. A couple of VERY old suspect jars thrown from the back of the cupboard. I think they breed in there, as I don't know how they escaped the last cull
.
Hopefully flying will recommence when we get back. Have a lovely day all.0 -
Morning All,
Going away for a couple of days to see a friend who's just had a baby. Packing up for me, tiddlers and dog is no mean feat especially giving that it's persisting it down in her neck of the woods so I need to pack allsorts to keep the kids entertained.
It's a two hour drive so will need to make sandwiches. In fact, better get on and make them! xMFW

Bedroom and bedding was done yesterday, but bathroom really needs a good clean. Might be out tomorrow, but I will try and get it done this week.
JoJo there are violin tutorials on YouTube, though I do agree a beginner trying to play it might be a bit hard on the ears! I had a few lessons myself when I was about 14 but I was too impatient and gave it up after a while. Think I wanted to sound like Yehudi Menuhin straightaway :rotfl: and got frustrated with the screechy notes I was producing.0 -
Started a blitz on the kitchen before I read today's list.
- all but one worktop now cleared of clutter and thoroughly cleaned.
- all appliances wiped. Toaster de-crumbed.
- both windowsills cleared and cleaned, plants watered and replaced.
- extractor fan cover removed and cleaned.
- sinks cleaned
- compost bin emptied
- floor mopped
that's enough of a list but I was pretty impressed. Vacuumed hall and lounge plus part of conservatory.
Determined to pull myself together after an off/odd week.

Decluttered the hospital appointment and travel there and back surprisingly easily. Only two annoyances - one was only discovering the place had free wifi three minutes before my name was called, so had sat there with the vacuous drivel that passes for magazines unnecessarily - and the other was that the ganglion is still hiding in the depths of my wrists and hasn't completely dispersed, so is guaranteed to come back again. It was interesting for the radiology student to see though - and neither he or the consultant radiologist were old enough to know that the traditional method of diagnosis was to switch the lights off and point a torch against a lump, as it makes the entire wrist glow like a lightbulb if it's a ganglion. So I left feeling like I'd helped their historical knowledge a bit, but that I'm also considerably more ancient and decrepit than I thought I was when I walked in

Got back in the rain and decided pea & mint soup was necessary - it hardly took any time at all, thanks to putting the peas on to soak yesterday as his mate turned up and I pretty much washed up by using the pan to carry water out to the windowboxes (which were absolutely bone dry after the first eighth of an inch).
Gave Himself the choice of cake or bread pudding if he sorted out the kitchen for me. Strange how it took him all of about ten minutes, resulted in scrubbed and gleaming surfaces and my scales and baking bits nicely laid out with a large mug of tea at the side, isn't it?
He got bread pudding. And he's cleaned up afterwards, too (not that I make mess when cooking) and has headed off upstairs to do some cleaning in the spare room. So I can now clear my table of the new gibble he has put on it whilst I was at the hospital.
Going to feed him on more old people/peasant food tomorrow. He's never had Pease Pudding. And I'm going to make it from scratch rather than open a tin. He's already booked us two tickets to go out on Saturday night, which is almost unheard of.
I wonder if I promise to cook some sort of pie on Friday whether he'll check the manky drains again?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Good morning :hello:
It feels quite autumnal here. I love it.
When I put the bins out last night I counted over 30 slugs on my (not that big) lawn  (the big foreign slugs that seem to have obliterated the slugs that used to live here
. I'm not a fan of slugs of any description tbf, but given a choice I'd rather have the little black fellas from my childhood. Is it possible to be nostalgic for slugs? :rotfl: )
The hoover flex has been sliced and spliced so I can finish hoovering the stairs :T Spiders in all rooms should be hastily evacuating their webs as their days are numbered. Mwahahaha.
I've got the right head on for more flinging/ flying today - whilst preparing breakfast there was a commentary running through my brain: that needs to go in that cupboard, and that can be slung, oh they can go, hmm that can go in that cupboard. Now I've thunk it, it will be done
I hope everyone enjoys this last day of August 2017. ( Note to self: write Christmas lists :xmassmile. )

Good morning.
DD and I had a lovely day out yesterday in the city of spires. Everything worked to (the very rough) plan, and we didn't get lost which was a bonus. By the time we got back, I really didn't want to do an awful lot, but I turned yet more plums and some apples into chutney. I'm feeling very virtuous and Mary Berry at the moment!
Today I have a couple of errands to run, and am playing taxi for DD and her friends. Quick freezer dive hasn't managed to produce anything for dinner apart from yet more vegetables. I might have to pop into a shop to stop the troops from complaining, but I am determined not to buy too much until we have run down the freezer and cupboards a bit. First though, I am going to fill a barrow of garden rubbish and get that green bin filling again, before it decides to rain. Then it will have to be kitchen I think for today, although the shower also needs doing.....
Have lovely day all.0
