Morning all

Just off to take Dad to the Dockyard so we can see the huge aircraft carrier then I really must sort some of the school stuff that's taking over my front room!
Am dreading going back - I keep telling myself it's only 14 more weeks but that seems like a very long time . . . . . .
Washing out to dry and - er - I'm up and dressed!!"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers
"I'm feeling like a Monday but someday I'll be Saturday night" - Bon Jovi0 -
Well so far we have had blazing sun, torrential rain and rolls of thunder! At the moment it is a sunny 5 minutes.
Errands run, green bin half filled, a dreaded phone call made, and £13 in old pound coins rescued from my money box - actually a grand name for an old box that I sling mostly coppers and 5p coins in from my purse. Somewhere along the way I was obviously feeling flush, and it has been on my list to do since it first appeared on the flylady list one week. So £13 richer in my purse, and the other coins are bagged up ready to take to the bank.
Right - just time to put the recycling out then it's off back out to pick up DD, as there is no bus back for another 3 hours.
ETA - posi vibes to you Frodders for next week. We can all help you count down the 14 weeks to help them go faster. X0 -
(((Hugs))) Frodders. You'll get through it, and when it feels overwhelming you can chant the 'It's only until the end of term' mantra. Is it worth making yourself one of those worm things that we used to keep under our desklids at school, that we pulled one part off every day? I knew someone who made a multi-legged spider and pulled a leg off every day - very satisfying - or reading Roundtuit's post, a slug version? Anything that gets you through ....
I've finally found an affordable radiator proddy cleaning fluffy stick abotu a metre long, all of £1.39 from Buy0l0gy. It'll save mucking about with dusters on sticks and make that irritating job a breeze. Hurrrah!
Another batch of pear and ginger chutney potted this morning but we stripped the pear tree of the high ups yesterday so thats another 10 kilos or so just for this house, and everyone else gets just as many. It's been so prolific this year the tree's now got a serious list and had to be staked. That was after I stripped dozens, if not hundreds of pearlets immediately after flowering.Better is good enough.0 -
Imho, the only form of "slug" that is even remotely acceptable is "a good slug of whisky".It feels quite autumnal here. I love it.
When I put the bins out last night I counted over 30 slugs on my (not that big) lawn  (the big foreign slugs that seem to have obliterated the slugs that used to live here
. I'm not a fan of slugs of any description tbf, but given a choice I'd rather have the little black fellas from my childhood. Is it possible to be nostalgic for slugs? :rotfl: )

:jI am very late joining in this week . Better late than never I guess.
Today I am going to concentrate on cleaning the kitchen as it has become a little cluttered and things need to be put away. Lots of footprints too despite all my mats. Thinking i might have to buy vinyl flooring as the marmoleum is harder to keep clean.
:j:j We bought a new dog on Tuesday so getting accustomed to stepping over/ round her. She is gorgeous and follows me everywhere. She is nervous of my perching stool but is fine with my walking stick. Our last two dogs were rescue dogs and one was terrified of my stick
Mr P let me clean the hob. But did moan a bit (jokingly). business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

*Perks up at mention of new dog*
What have you got, Poohbear? Male or female? How old? What colour?

(((hugs))) for froddington
sl!inte mhaith to LameWolf
WM x 2 drying on the line - a big black cloud came over earlier, but I put my trust in the weather forecast which said no rain til later, and it's glorious again now.:D
Dailies are done. Hoover has been tested on kitchen floor and didn't blow up:T. Several items removed from kitchen floor and flung - including a pair of shoes with holes in the toes, which I've been keeping why?
.
I think I can feel a MAD x 15 minutes in the kitchen coming on to add to what's already been done in there today (translates as ' I wonder what else is under the table'

Oooh tell us more about the new dog Poohbear! Hope he/she is settling in well.
Hats off to you Frodders (and all teachers / people who work with children)...I coped with my own but I'm not a little people fan!
I'm with Lamewolf...all slugs are eughhhhhh! apart from the alcoholic variety.
Lists completed to my level (work mad busy so I've adapted a few to fit in with me). No more flying this week as off our with DD for the day tomorrow and working silly hours on Saturday.
Have a fab weekend everyone xx0 -
